Text. The Clarks get a letter.
Another morning the Clarks were having breakfast when a letter arrived from Stepanov, an Uzbek research scientist.
KITTY: Mummy, I’ve got too much porridge.
MARY: You can’t have any bacon and eggs, if you don’t eat your porridge.
KITTY: Yes, but you have given me too much.
MARY: You can have some sugar. Now, be quiet and eat it up.
CHARLES: (reading a letter) Listen to this, Mary. Here is a letter from Dr. Stepanov, the man I met when 1 was in Leningrad. It says he’s coming here to do research under one of the articles of the -Anglo-Soviet Scientific Exchange Programme. It allows people from universities and research centres to visit scientific establishments for several months.
