interests in Classical Geometry. These interesting classical topics occupy the minds of many people
even today and surely will be studied in the future. But with the development of algebraic apparatus
the geometers had the chance to investigate the geometric properties with analytical tools. This has led
to some split between mathematicians first of which called themselves analytic geometers versus the
others who called themselves synthetic geometers. Until the coordinates were invented by Descartes
the only available geometry was synthetic geometry and the word synthetic was added to it only after
it was challenged by analysts like Plücker. Possibly the most famous representative of synthetic
approach was Jakob Steiner who rejected development of projective and non-Euclidean geometry via
analytical methods. During this fruitful time for geometry it has developed in many directions
including Differential Geometry which uses infinitesimals. The next important step in the
development of geometry was the interest of XX century amateur and professional geometers in
geometric inequalities. By that time the fashion of finding formulas in geometry turned more or less
into the hunt for inequalities. Surprisingly the geometric inequalities were around since the beginning
of geometry. Probably, the first geometric inequality appeared in Euclid’s Elements (Book 1,
Proposition 20). It is now called Triangle inequality.
Triangle inequality. For arbitrary triangle with sides a, b, and c, the inequalities a+b>c, b+c>a,
and c+a>b hold true.
Ancient Greek mathematicians had not much interest in inequalities. Some geometric inequalities
appeared naturally in construction problems but these findings did not play an important role in Greek
mathematics. The situation did not change much when medieval Arabic and medieval European
scholars took the leading position in mathematics. However we have examples of interesting
geometric inequalities discovered during this time. The history of inequalities in manuscripts of
medieval Islamic and Renaissance mathematicians is still waiting to be studied. We want to show you
one example which we found when we studied Russian translation of one Arabic manuscript:
Banu Musa’s Inequality. Let AC be a diameter of a circle with center D. The radius DB is
perpendicular to AC. Take arbitrary point L on semicircle ABC. Let BL intersect line AC at E. Then
the inequality
|BL|∙|DE|≤ 2∙|DB|
2
holds true.
After the revival of classic geometry beginning with Renaissance the geometric inequalities have
been studied by many renowned and amateur mathematicians. See geometric inequalities collection
books for details.
Every geometric figure in plane or space can be studied in two different ways. In the first
approach one finds formulas, equalities involving the elements of the geometric figure, establish
collinearity or concurrency theorems, and determine all other relationships in the context of Classic
Euclidean Geometry. The second somewhat modern approach is about finding inequalities between
the elements of geometric figure, estimating the length of line segments, angle measures, areas, and all
other comparisons of parts of the figure in the context of Geometric Inequalities. Usually, studies in
these two directions complete each other.
Let us demonstrate our words by the following instructive example.
Example. Let
P and
R be points on the sides
AB and
BC of triangle
ABC, and let
Q be a point on
PR.

C, respectively, then

Although these two results are independent (in the sense that they can be proved independently),
taken together they perfectly complete each other. Indeed, 1
st
result describes geometric meaning of
the equality case in the inequality of 2
nd
result, and 2
nd
result naturally generalizes the equality in 1

result. As in last example the interplay between the two approaches is very fruitful for finding new
geometric facts. Similar situation appeared in many places of our research which we will outline in the
conference.
RİYAZİYYATIN SİMVOLİK DİLİ RİYAZİ İDRAK
MEXANİZMLƏRİNİN ÖZ ÜZƏRİNDƏ REFLEKSİYASI KİMİ

Xülasə: Tezisdə riyaziyyatın xüsusi simvolik dilə sahib olması və bu simvolik dilin riyaziyyatın ən vacib düşüncə aləti
olduğu vurğulanır. Və belə bir tezis irəli sürülür ki, simvolik dil riyazi idrak mexanizmlərinin özü öz üzərində refleksiyadır.
Açar sözlər: riyaziyyat, simvolik dil, refleksiya, yazi, proeksiya.
Riyaziyyat xüsusi simvolik dilə sahibdir. Bu dil adi danışıq dilindən fərqlənir. Bu simvolika
imkan verir ki, adi danışıq dilində ifadə oluna bilməyən fikirlər "sıxılmış" şəkildə simvolik dildə ifadə
oluna bilsin.
Səbəb-nəticə zənciri ardıcıllıqla izlənir. Amma riyazi dil
mürəkkəb quruluşa malikdir. Bu dil xətti yox, üçölçülü struktur quruluşa malikdir. Bu cür
konstruksiya imkan verir ki, düşüncələr düz xətt üzrə yox, əyrixətli trayektoriyalar üzrə hərəkət edə
bilsin. Hər bir riyazi fikir özündən əvvəlki və sonrakı fikirləri sanki canında saxlayır. Bu cür quruluşa
malik olmaq imkan verir ki, riyazi dil ən mürəkkəb fikirləri ifadə edə bilsin. Görkəmli fizik, kvant
mexanikasının banisi N.Bor deyirdi ki, riyaziyyat mürəkkəb ifadələrin ifadəsi üçün nəzərdə tutulmuş
dilə çox bənzəyir. “Elmin yaratdığı fundamental anlayışlar son nəticədə simvollardır. Hansı ki,
yaradıcı ruh onu hisslərlə birbaşa verilən məlumata qarşı qoyur. Məhz bu nəzəri idrak, tamamilə
simvollaşmış konstruksiya bizə hadisələri öngörməyə imkan verir (2, s.57). Yaxud da, Daosizm kimi
Şərq fəlsəfi təlimləri ilə müasir fizika arasında paralellik aparan amerikalı fizik F. Kapra yazır: “Əsrin
başlanğıcında maddənin atomlarını araşdırarkən, elmi mühitlərdə belə bir təsəvvür yaranmışdı ki,
bütün elmi nəzəriyyələr və modellər təxminidir və dilimizin natamamlığından əziyyət çəkirlər. Yeni
kəşflər fizikləri məcbur etdi ki, onlar qəbul etsinlər ki, atom və subatom səviyyəsindəki gerçəklik üçün
adi insan danışıq dili qətiyyən yararlı deyil. Müasir fizikanın iki sütunu olan, kavant fizikası və
nisbilik nəzəriyyəsi, məlum oldu ki, klassik məntiqin qanunlarına tabe olmur. Belə ki, Heyzenberq
yazır; adi danışıq dili ilə kvant fizikası haqqında danışmaq olmur, necə edəsən, hansı sözü işlədəsən
riyazi simvolların əvəzinə, məlum deyil; yalnız bir şey aydındır ki, adi danışıq dili atom quruluşunu
təsvir etmək üçün yetərsizdir” (3, s.40).
Adi danışıq dilində sözlərin və fikirlərin arxasında intuisiya bolluğu dayanır. Sanki adi dil bu fon
üzərində “gəzişir”. Belə intuisiya bolluğunun meydana gətirdiyi assosasiyalar danışıq dilinin birmənalı
və dəqiq olmasına mane olur. Məsələn, humanitar düşüncədə bunu asanlıqla müşahidə etmək olar.
Belə ki, humanitar sahələrdə sözlərin və cümlələrin müxtəlif yozumları mümkündür. Lakin riyazi dilə
tərcümə olunmuş, riyazi simvolikaya köçürülmüş düşüncələr intuisiya bolluğundan və müxtəlif məna
