and consists of fine-grained sand. The lithological composition of horizon VI is composed of gray
clays and silty sandstones "a" and "b". The total thickness is 17 m. The composition of horizon
VII includes medium-grained sands, 1meter clay interlayers located in the upper part, and
interlayers of sandstones 1-2 m thick. The total thickness of the horizon varies from 15 to 20 m.
The total thickness of horizon VIII is 10 m. The lithological composition consists of medium and
coarse-grained sands and sandy clays up to 1 m thick. The lithological composition of horizon IX
with a total thickness of 30 m consists of fine-grained and medium-grained sands, two-three-layer
sandstones 1.5 m thick and clay interlayers 4 m thick. The IX horizon is parallel to the IV layer of
the eastern Absheron and the I horizon of Lokbatan. Horizon X is interbedded with brown-gray
clays and fine-grained sands with a total thickness of 58 m. The lithological composition of
horizon XI is represented by medium-grained sands and sandstones, thin sandy clays. The total
thickness of the horizon is 30 m.
Surakhani suite occurs directly under the Aghchagil stage. Lithologically the section is
represented by gray clays, clayey sands, and shell remains. In the lower part of the section, the
amount of sandstones and quartzite sandstones increases. The total thickness of the Surakhani
suite is 330 m and consists of four main oil-bearing horizons. The lithological composition of the
1st horizon consists of sand and sandy loam, its total thickness is 10 m. In the lithological
composition of horizon 2 three sandy layers are distinguished. It is divided by two layers of clay
1.5 m thick at the top and bottom. The total thickness of horizon is 30 m. The total thickness of
horizon 3 is 10 m, and the lithological composition consists of fine and gray clays, as well as a
sandstone interlayer 1 m thick. The thickness of horizon IV is 30 m, the lithological composition
consists of fine-grained gray sands with two layers of clay and three-layer sandstones with a
thickness of 2 m [3].
