Article 15. Assurance of gender equality in economic and social relations
15.1. The state ensures the creation of equal opportunities for men and woman in the execution 
of their property rights, for being engaged in entrepreneurial activities. 
15.2. The state ensures the creation of equal opportunities for men and women in the execution 
of their rights of social maintenance, in getting the addressed social allowances and other social 
concessions from the state.
Article 16. Assurance of gender equality in the activity of political parties, non-governmental 
organizations, trade unions. 
16.1. Affi liation to political parties, non-governmental organizations and trade unions is open 
for men and women on equal conditions, and equal opportunities must be created for both of 
them.
16.2. The provisions of Article 16.1 of This Law are not applied to the activities of the non-
governmental organizations set up for the defence of the interests of a defi nite sex.
Article 17. The right of demanding the payment of damages
17.1. The persons subjected to gender discrimination are paid for the damages in the form as 
provided by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
17.2. Persons subjected to sexual harassment are paid damages in the form as provided by the 
legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 
Article 18. Responsibilities for the violation of the law Persons guilty in the violation of the 
provisions of This Law bear responsibility in conformity with the legislation of the Republic of 
Azerbaijan.
Article 19. Control on the assurance of gender equality 
Control on the assurance of gender equality is exercised by a respective body of the executive 
power
Article 20. Annual report of the body of the executive power which controls the assurance of 
the gender equality
The body of the executive power which exercises control on the assurance of gender equality, 
submits its annual report to the parliament of the Republic on its activities.
Article 21. Enforcement of the law 
This Law gains force since the day of its signature.
