Task 2
Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films.
Why could this be?
Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?
Nowadays, some people watch foreign films more than locally produced ones. This could be
because of
several reasons, and I believe that the government should not invest in local
filmmakers.
As long as the causes of this increase in the foreign film industry are concerned, I see several of
them as the main triggers. One of them is that the quality of the final product if
it is produced in a
local area, is not competitively high compared to overseas films. The main reason for this is that
the governments of these nations want to improve other fields, overlooking the film industry. As
a result, the main factors considered in the production
of quality movies, such as the sound and
visual effects of Marvel Movie Company, are always higher than any local filmmakers` movies.
Not only local film industries cannot employ renowned
actors and actresses, but also they might
not be able to make the plot interesting for the possible audience.
When it comes to whether I agree with the opinion of investing money in local film producers, I
would say that famous business owners should provide money for them
as they can eventually
show the history of this area to a broad world audience. In doing so, governments can teach the
young generation their history and unique cultural institutions; this will
in turn help to bring up a
future generation with patriotic behavior. Moreover, even though the money can be spent on
developments
in medicine and education, I would argue that cinematography would easily gain a
lot of cash flow to the country and helps attract world attention.
In conclusion, though locally made movies can have low quality compared to foreign films, I
lean toward the idea that the government should support them to get profit afterward.
