CHAPTER II. THE INFLUENCE OF ROMANTICISM IN LITERATURE
2.1. The influence of Romanticism in literature and its development
Literature was greatly influenced by romanticism. Scholarly Romanticism changed the possibility of writing. The latter was merely essays, history, and the study of ancient Greek and Roman languages before the 18th century. It was very limited and dominated by rationality, and it was limited to studying the classics. It was not creative or innovative. Verse was viewed as fundamentally as an impersonation of nature. Then romanticism emerged as a fresh start that introduced novel concepts and new ways of seeing the world. Literature had almost become synonymous with "imaginative," "inventive," and "creative" by this point. The literary work in and of itself came to be seen as a coherent whole: it became, in William Wordsworth's definition, "an unconstrained flood of strong inclination." After that, poetry took on a profound philosophical, political, and social significance. Literature evolved into a comprehensive alternative ideology governed by the "imagination," which also had an impact on the romanticism movement in English poetry.
Romanticism reformed way of thinking, religion, and writing as a perspective. It questioned the conventional way of thinking that had been widely accepted during the Enlightenment: the period when thoughts were more important than logic. For instance, the following is a description of the romantic ideological novelty provided by the French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau: Before I thought, I felt. He disagrees with Descartes in this formulation, who rather upholds reason: I believe that's why I'm Furthermore, Rousseau expressed that man should free his soul. This ought to bring a notable idea, which is opinions could provoke 'truth'. Subsequently, the heartfelt way of thinking of the eighteenth century dismissed the possibility that the psyche capabilities as a straightforward beneficiary of the rest of the world or as a mirror. Instead, it views the psyche as the creator of the universe it observes.
Romanticism fundamentally impacted composition. The idea of writing has changed thanks to artistic Romanticism. The final option, which existed prior to the 18th century, consisted primarily of articles, history, and research into ancient Greek and Roman dialects. It was restricted to the study of art, and rather than being creative or innovative, it was severely restricted and dominated by logic. Verse was essentially seen as an entertainment of nature. By presenting novel ideas and perspectives on the world, Romanticism provided a fresh start and a new inspiration for writing. At this point, the words "creative," "inventive," and "imaginative" were practically used interchangeably in literature. The insightful work itself came to be seen as a characteristic fortitude : According to William Wordsworth's description, it evolved into: a strong emotion's uncontrollable outpouring. At that time, poetry had significant social, political, and philosophical effects. Literature has evolved into an all-encompassing alternative ideology founded on "imagination."
Romanticism was basically a development of thought which had its philosophical roots in Europe and its creative articulation in Britain. The English Romantic writers and poets' expressions of these concepts were quite intriguing. Let's look at some examples of authors who influenced English romanticism.
