The Austrian Association of Municipalities (
Österreichischer Gemeindebund
) is the legal
representation of the interests of smaller and medium-sized municipalities in Austria. A
total of 2 343 municipalities are members of the association.

Court of Audit
The Austrian Court of Audit (
Rechnungshof
) is a state body under the Parliament, which has
financial independence. The Court’s jurisdiction extends to the Federal Government,
regional and local governments, as well as to all bodies controlled or substantially funded
by these.
