Distribution maps are not precise. Most records are at a fairly general level (e.g. Dublin Bay) but deemed specific enough for validation purposes. These maps are intended to give a broad picture of where species are found around the coast of Ireland and Britain.
On each sheet is a map, and a photograph illustrating a preserved specimen for each species. Numbers in brackets refer to the series as recorded on the Checklist (see Appendix 1).
