Helping Christians to Energize Their Focus on “THE MAIN THING”
VOLUME 1 ISSUE 3
12/29/2016
Usually, when the word “evangelism” is mentioned, most
Christians have the above look on their faces. For children of
God, helping other individuals come to the knowledge of the
truth should be as simple as a baker baking a cake. Bakers bake,
and Christians evangelize. If you are a baker, someone had to
train you how to bake. You may have went to school, been
taught by your mother, watched cooking shows, or just picked
up a book and started trying different baking recipes. No matter
how you learned to bake, you had to learn. If you, as a baker
were asked to bake a cake would you have the above reaction?
It is the goal of our evangelism classes to help you build
confidence and increase your Biblical knowledge so you can do
what Christians are to naturally do. We want every member to
be able to use the tools available to help bring lost souls to Jesus
Christ. Whenever we are involved in something for the first
time, there will be nervousness and a little anxiety, but if we
practice those things which we are going to learn, it will become
easier.
Paul had to remind Timothy not to neglect the gift which
was given to him through the laying on of hands of the
presbytery (1 Tim. 4:14). Sometimes we need to be reminded
not to neglect the work of the evangelism that has been left for
us by the authority of Jesus Christ. As we prepare these classes,
we want to impart knowledge, confidence, and a love for lost
souls within those who are attending. As we are making plans to
finalize dates and times for the classes, we hope each of you are
considering attending so the work of the Lord can sound forth
from this place as it did from Thessalonica (2 Thess. 1:8).
