Topic: Investigation of occurrence and elimination of kicks during oil and gas wells drilling.

Research object: The Master's thesis is dedicated to the kicks that occur during the drilling of oil and gas wells and its elimination. Kicks that occurred during drilling were investigated, suggestions were made and prepared in order to prevent it. In general, kicks that arise during drilling have always been given great importance. Prevention of currently occurring kicks is one of the most important issues during well drilling.

Purpose and characteristics of work: The main purpose of the elimination of kicks in the drilling of oil and gas wells is to prevent the dangerous effects of the uncontrolled release of formation fluids such as gas or oil into the well pipe and to the atmosphere. If not properly controlled, the spill can cause explosive discharge of fluids from the well, which can cause fire, equipment damage, environmental damage, and loss of life. Therefore, preventing kicks is one of the most important aspects of drilling operations. Many methods are used to fight against the kicks. However, these methods sometimes do not allow to completely solve this problem. Some modern drilling tools, such as Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems, measure pressure, temperature, flow rate, etc. can help in detection and monitoring of the kicks by measuring well parameters. These instruments can provide early warning of gas leaks and abnormal pressures.

Characteristics of the study: Several factors influence the magnitude of the kicks. For example, the "permeability" of rock. This is its ability to allow fluid movement in the rock. Another factor affecting the severity of the kicks is "porosity". Porosity measures the amount of space in a rock that contains fluids. A rock with high permeability and high porosity has a greater potential for shock than rock with low permeability and low porosity.
Research results: The dissertation consists of three chapters and a conclusion.
