3. Soon White Fang’s snarl turned into a loud cry.

5. White Fang didn’t even dare to look in the direction of his master’s 
feet.
6. Meanwhile he stayed in the camp.
7. Gray Beaver was by no means a loving God.
8. A couple of hours later he heard Gray Beaver’s voice calling him 
from the canoe.
9. After some time the voices died away in the distance.
