Valuable skills for conflict management

  • 1)Discussion-the ability to be open to discussing problems instead of only sharing your opinions with those who agree with you
  • 2)Listening-the ability to actively listen to the other person without jumping to conclusions or making assumptions
  • 3)Responsibility-the ability to take responsibility for your actions when it is due
  • 4)Stress management-the ability to manage your stress properly so as not to make the situation worse

Remember that conflict is natural and happens in every ongoing relationship. Since conflict is unavoidable we must learn to manage it. Conflict can not be resolved unless it is addressed with the appropriate individual(s).
