rains in spring but the rain is warm and pleasant. The days are
warm and everything is full of life and joy, it looks fresh and new
everywhere.
Spring is followed by summer. The weather is usually fine in
summer, but it can be very hot, especially in July. The days are
long in summer and the nights are short. In July the sun rises very
early. In some parts of the Globe sometimes there are storms with
thunder and lightning. In summer people try to get away from the
city noise and spend more time in the open air. They pick
mushrooms and berries in the forest, swim in the rivers and lakes,
go fishing and boating. Most people prefer to
have their holidays
in summer. Everybody likes to swim in the sea and lie in the sun
and sunbathe on the shore of the sea in summer.
Autumn begins
in September. The
leaves turn yellow,
red and brown and
fall to the ground.
Most
birds
migrate* to warm
countries. It is a
beautiful
time
when the sky is cloudless, the trees around are golden, the air is
transparent and is still warm. But gradually it gets colder and
colder, and as we know, autumn is rather a rainy season. It often
rains in October and November. Autumn is also the season of
harvest. People gather cottons, grapes and pick almost all sorts
of fruits.
In winter the sun sets early and rises late. It is the coldest
season in the year. The rivers and lakes are frozen over in many
parts of the world. It often snows and the sun shines rarely. The
air is frosty. Some people do not like to go out in such weather,
but some, on the contrary, do* like to
be out for skating or skiing
