Silviya Obaydi has a legal background (master degree in law and master degree in European
Law).
She started her career in 2004 in the Bulgarian public administration (Ministry of Defence) as a
legal adviser dealing in particular with administrative and civil law, labour law and civil procedure
issues.
She first joined the European institutions in March 2006 in the frame of a traineeship in the Legal
service of the European Parliament and later worked for six years for the Court of Justice of the EU.
Since 2012, she has joined the European Commission (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion
- Unit Health and Safety at Work) as a lawyer entrusted to contribute to the legal aspects of the
development and monitoring of initiatives in the domain of Occupational Safety and Health at Work
(OSH).
