the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC).  Further
work has been carried out by CCW and English Nature as
part of their programme of monitoring.  Records of Red
Data Book species are maintained in JNCC’s rare plants
database.  Members of the Botanical Society of the British
Isles (BSBI) have recently collected up-to-date records of
scarce species; these data are held at the Biological Records
Centre and have been summarised in Scarce plants in Britain
(Stewart et al. 1994).  A Red Data Book for Cornwall is being
prepared by the Institute of Cornish Studies.
