Exercise 1: Song Selection 
Instructions:

In small groups, choose a song that fits the criteria mentioned in the 
core text (not too long, not too fast, everyday English, clear). 
•
Write down the title and artist of the chosen song. 
•
Discuss within your group why you think the song is suitable for your 
age group. 
•
Be prepared to present your chosen song and explain your reasoning to 
the class. 
Exercise 2: Language Learning Activities 
Instructions: 
 
•
In your group, choose one activity from the list below to demonstrate 
using your chosen song. 
•
Prepare and practice the activity with your group members. 
•
Each group will present their activity to the class, engage the class in 
participation, and explain the purpose of the activity. 
•
After each presentation, the class will provide feedback and discuss the 
effectiveness and enjoyment of the activity. 
 
Activity Options: 
a) Fill in the Blanks: Remove key words from the song lyrics and have 
students fill in the missing words as they listen to the song.

b) Vocabulary Hunt: Provide a list of target vocabulary words from the 
song. Students listen to the song and try to identify and match the words to 
the correct lines in the lyrics. 
c) Sing-Along Karaoke: Create a karaoke version of the song with 
highlighted lyrics. Students can sing along while following the lyrics on the 
screen. 
d) Guess the Emotion: Play a portion of the song and have students 
identify the emotion conveyed in the lyrics. Discuss how the music and lyrics 
contribute to the emotional impact. 
e) Storyboard Creation: Divide the song into sections and have students 
create a visual storyboard representing the different parts of the song.
