HROUGH (while listening, while reading)

  • What activities will learners do while they listen/read?

  • How many times will they listen/read?

  • How will you check learners’ comprehension?

  1. Narration of the text with the help of listening.

Teacher reads or plays the recording of the text: Britain lies off the.northwest coast of mainland Europe. Its full name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (or the UK). Students listen carefully and make notes. Teacher reads the text thrice. Then to check their comprehension each student one by one narrates the text using his own notes and newly learned words.

  1. After that students are given a chance to look through the original text.



BEYOND (post-listening, post-reading)

  • How will you use the passage/text to develop listening/ reading skills?

  • How might learners expand on the listening/reading topic in a way that integrates other proficiency areas? (For example, a speaking activity, a writing activity)

  1. Talking about their own country.

Teacher spins the globe and asks each student to point to any place. The country where their finger is, should be described in accordance with the passage about the UK.
Students should prepare their speeches and draw something about the country they describe (ex, flag).
Then they one by one represent their speeches in front of others. (Integration with speaking)



EVALUATION
• How will you know that learners have achieved the lesson objective?

  • How will learners know that they have achieved the lesson objective?

If learners are able


-to correctly use new vocabulary;
-to talk about different countries;
-correctly comprehend English speech by ear
both teachers and students have achieved lesson objectives.
