Annotation. In our article we will consider the hippological vocabulary, which has been in active use for several centuries, and nowadays has passed into the category of low-frequency or obsolete. Despite the fact that this vocabulary is not widely used nowadays, nevertheless, the scientific approaches of linguists in the field of the linguistic status of hippological vocabulary in the article contributed to reveal the main key conditions for revealing the features of animal terminology.
