A hybrid between 
L. maroccana
and 
L. multifida
first described by the Swedish botanist 
S. Murbeck (1859–1946) from among seedlings derived from 
L. maroccana
growing in the Lund
Botanic Garden, Sweden. The plants resemble 
L. maroccana
the maternal parent most closely in
their general appearance. The leaves are reminiscent of 
L. multifida
, resembling their deeply bipin-
natisect form closely. The stem indumentum bears sparse long stiff hairs typical of 
L. multifida
although lacks the short branched hairs. In 
L. maroccana
the stems are almost glabrous. The
bracts and spikes are intermediate in character between the two parents. This hybrid appears
only to be known from cultivation.
