Plotting a spectrum
spectrum range.
Displayed ranges can by changed quickly by:
Expand spectrum between markers.
icon:

menu: Screen | Expand spectrum.
The part of the spectrum contained between markers is expanded to the full
panel size.
Condense spectrum between markers.
icon:
menu: Screen | Condense spectrum.
This operation will double the number of displayed channels symmetrically
around the center between markers.
Changing of the display range may be done by
keyboard
 or using
X-scale
feature
.

Additional displaying features
Zooming feature allows you to observe details of any spectrum area using
mouse. This is an alternative way of controlling a display – turning on zooming
disables markers usage; to use markers again, turn off zoom feature.

Zoom
icon:

menu: Screen | Zoom.
With zooming on, you can arbitrary enlarge selected portion of a spectrum. To
zoom, drag the pointer with the left mouse button pressed over the part of the
spectrum which you may to magnify.
When zooming is turned on the cursor have a following view:
Grid
icon:

menu: Screen | Grid.
Selecting this feature displays a coordinate grid. The ticks are  automatically
adjusted to the type of the display (linear/logarithmic) and the display scale.

Screen refreshment
icon:

menu: Screen | Refresh screen.
This operation erases and re-displays entire plotting panel. It is sometimes
necessary to redraw the panel after closing of an application or dialog box on top
of Tukan8k, when the marker positions or spectra are not correctly shown.

Displaying options
Spectrum display options can be controlled and modified from the menu:
menu Configuration | Options...
Displaying options can be updated from the Spectrum display tab containing
two groups of options Display options part and the Colors.
Display options:
Preserve markers positio
n
 - if this option is set then the last markers setting is
preserved after the change of the displayed
main spectrum
 or after switching to
another module. If this option is not set then after each change of the main
spectrum markers, are displayed in the default position, i.e. the left on the
channel laying at 40% and the right on the channel laying at 60% of the channel

range width.
Preserve scale when spectrum changed – if this option is set then the
horizontal and vertical scaling is retained upon changing the displayed spectra. If
this option is not set then, after each change of the  displayed spectrum the new
one is shown in full scale.
Preserve scale when modules changed – if this option is set then horizontal
and vertical scaling is retained upon program module change.
Colors:
These option are obligatory for all modules of the program
ROI – color of not calculated  ROI, is inserted in peak table with no parameters
ROI single – color of single ROI
ROI multipled – color of ROI containing multipled

Colors of the plot panel
You can change colors of the following items in the spectra panel:
 background
•  markers
•  main spectrum
Colors can be assigned in each module independently and their settings are
saved after program shutdown – they are included in the configuration
parameters.

menu: Screen | Colors...
In plot panel colors selection dialog box, only color of the main spectrum may be
set – other spectra colors may be changed via
spectra cointainer
 dialog box.

Spectrum plot style changing
There exist four styles of spectra plotting. These are:
•  line – spectrum is plotted connecting spectra points;
•  point – each histogram point is represented by a single dot;
•  big point – each histogram point is represented by a point ;
•  bar - each histogram point is represented by a thin bar plotted from the base
line to a point of Y coordinate;
•  area – all the area below the spectrum line segments is filled with the color of
the spectrum.
•  histogram –
The default and recommended plotting style is line, as it is the fastest and the
most readable one.

Plotting style of each spectrum may be changed at any time, however this
atribute is not retained after program shut down.

All spectra being in the
spectra container
 may be displayed in the
background of the main spectrum.
