4.Global problems in the world
Problems that affect the whole world either directly or indirectly
are said to be global problems and they could range from being
economical, social, political or environmental. According to me
insecurity, global warming, Aids, poverty and energy are today's
five major global problems.Global warming is a major factor
affecting or precipitating climate change, which has led to many
adverse effects globally. Global warming is caused by the
greenhouse effect, which is caused by greenhouse gases that
include CO2, nitric acid, methane hydro fluorocarbons and sulphur
hexafluoride.
Man's activities like burning of coal to produce electricity,
transportation sector and cutting down of trees for lumbering,
settlement and farming, waste products and domestic uses of
energy cause global warming. Global warming has led to extreme
weather events like droughts, floods, super storms and increased
temperatures which have caused the destruction of property, loss of
lives, psychological problems and extinction of some animal and
plant speciesDisplacement of people has increased with children
being rendered orphans and homeless.
Governments have been forced to increase their expenditures to
assist the affected. Those leaving along coasts as they try to protect
their structures have incurred additional costs. Insecurity is another
major global problem. Threats of both domestic and international
terrorism have been on the rise and people live in fear of attacks.
Terrorists undertake their activities as a way of coercing
governments to influence them adhere to their social, religious or
political ideologies.
5.The role of media in our life
Media plays an important role in our society and is a part of our
life.Media is known as the fourth pillor of democracy due to its

important role in shaping public opinion.Media makes as aware of
various,social,political and economical activities happenning
around in the world.It is powerful and flexible tool wich acts as a
voice for the voiceless and a great force in building the nation.
The are various types of media that are used to deliver current
news and offer entertainment to people.
The first type of media is print media.This includes
newspapers,magazines and journals.The second type of is
broadcast media.This includes radio and televisions.And the third
one is Internet media where people get information through the
internet like social media sites or in wepsites.
In early times,print media has always been a dominant medium,but
now,the television and internet has become the main source of
mass media since its emergence.
The main purpose of the media is to provide the people with a
platform where they get information,education and given insights.
It has the purpose of making sure information is given to the public
in on unbased way.Media has a lots of positive impact on the
society.With the excess information available to be
passed.Sometimes unautehntic and irrelevent information is also
communicated which is harmful to the society.It also damages the
true essence of journalism.
Sometimes,it has been also noticed that the media serve as a
means of propaganda for the various political parties.The people
are confused and fail to understand the truth.
However,the disadvantages of this kind are nothing in comparison
with their manifold advantages.They are really of great use for the
people and the country and so they should be encouraged in every
possible way.
