Please click the Next button.
Please click the Install button.
This completes the install of the program.
NOTE! You have not yet enabled the protection. That is the next step.
Please make sure the “Apply Cryptolocker Prevent” checkbox is Checked, and then click the Finish button.
You should now see the CryptoPrevent install splash screen. Please wait while the protection is being applied.
Once the protection is applied, you are requested to reboot your computer.
Please close all other programs and then click the Yes button to restart your computer. The protection may not be applied until your computer has been restarted.
Once your computer restarts, you may notice the additional item listed in your Start > All Programs menu: HDF & Associates, LLC
The program has been installed and you are now protected against the Cryptolocker virus. Any programs that may have already existed in the folders being protected will have been added to your WhiteList and will therefore be allowed to run. Any new programs added there (including, of course, the Cryptolocker virus) will be blocked from executing.
To test this protection, please click the “Test Cryptolocker Prevention” item in the menu to the right.
You should see the following window pop-up. This means that a test program has been copied to the protected folder and an attempt has been made to run it. If the run failed (as expected), you will see this window.
Additional options:
If you do not get the “Prevention Successfully Applied” popup as described above, please restart your computer and click the “Test Cryptolocker Prevention” link again. If it still fails, then please click the “Apply Cryptolocker Prevention” link and follow the instructions.
Occasionally, updates will be made to the program. To install them, please click the “Update Cryptolocker Prevention” in the menu.
If you wish to uninstall the program, click the “Uninstall Cryptolocker Prevention” link. This will disable the protection and uninstall the program.
