Introduction

PSIA Installation Manual provides the steps to install the client application.

Prerequisites

• 
  .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack1. The framework can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en
  
• 
  Apple Bonjour service should be uninstalled
  
• 
  Latest version of DirectX and video graphic card driver should be installed
  

Steps to install

Step 1:

Click the setup.exe to start the installation of client application. After clicking the exe a dialog will open. The dialog will check the system details like OS version before installation.

VLC 1.1.4 Installation

Step2:

Note: The installation of VLC media player is must. It should not be skipped.

If VLC is not installed in the system, VLC installation will start otherwise steps 2 to 8 will be ignored.

Select the language and click “Ok” on the VLC installer language dialog



Step 3:

Installation of VLC media player 1.1.4 is started. Click “Next” to continue.

Step 4:

Read the license terms and click “Next” to continue

Step 5:

Select the type of install and click “Next” to continue. Default option is Custom

Step 6:

By default VLC will be installed in C:\Program File\VideoLAN\VLC\. If the user wants the application to be installed in different drive then browse and select the appropriate folder and click “Install”.

Step 7:

The installation process is displayed

Step 8:

VLC installation is completed. Clicking on finish will run the VLC player as “Run VLC media player 1.1.4” option is selected. To run VLC later unselect the option “Run VLC media player 1.1.4” and click “Finish” completing VLC installation

Step 9:

Click next in the dialog to start installation.

Step 10:

By default the application will be installed in C:\Program File\PSIA Conformance Test Utility\. If the user wants the application to be installed in different drive then browse and select the appropriate folder and click next.

Step 11:

This dialog will show the setup status.

Step 12:

Installation completed. Click ‘Finish’ to proceed further.

After completing the installation steps user can start the application using the shortcut provided in Start Menu PSIA  PSIA Conformance Test Utility

Upgrade from PSIA Conformance Version 1.12 to 2.0

While installing version 2.0 if any version of PSIA conformance prior to version 2.0 is installed then the following upgrade process shall be done. In version 2.0, VLC version 1.1.4 shall be installed or upgraded.

Step 1:

User is intimated about the version of VLC. Click “Ok” to start the upgrade process

Step 2:

User is prompted to remove previous version before installing new version of VLC media player. The option “Yes” shall upgrade VLC and the option “No” shall not upgrade.

Note: It is recommended to select “Yes” to make the tool to work properly.

Select the features to be uninstalled in old version of VLC media player

VLC media player is being uninstalled

Step 5:

Click “Finish” to close the un-installation wizard

VLC Version 1.1.4 Installation

Step 6:

Installation of VLC media player 1.1.4 is started. Click “Next” to continue.

After upgrading VLC media player, the application installation shall be continued. Refer “PSIA Conformance Test Utility Installation” section.
