On May 15, 2015 in Beijing PM Modi met Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and discussed a wide range of issues including the yawning trade imbalance, terrorism, investment, climate change and UN reforms. As many as 24 agreements were signed between Modi and Li at the Great Hall of the People. The deals included agreement on railway cooperation, space cooperation, cooperation between Doordarshan and China Central Television and the opening of new consulates in Chennai and Chengdu.
Modi also announced that Chinese nationals would get e-visas for India, an effort to attract more tourists to India and boost people-to-people interaction

Twenty-four Key Agreements Inked Between India and China
An action plan between the Indian Railways and China National Railways on enhancing cooperation in the railway sector was also signed
An MoU on education exchange programme and Space Cooperation Outline were also signed.
Four agreements were signed on sister-state and sister city relations between Karnataka and Sichuan province; Chennai and Chongqing; Hyderabad and Qingdao; and Aurangabad and Dunhuang.
An agreement on setting up a Mahatma Gandhi Skill Centre in Ahmedabad was also signed besides a broadcast tie-up for Doordarshan and China's state-run CCTV.
Agreements on education exchange programme, on mining and minerals, skill development, tourism and voca-tional education also figured on the list
Saying India was open for investment as firms signed deals worth more than $ 22 billion. Modi told business leaders from Chinese and Indian companies at a business forum in the Chinese commercial hub Shanghai. "Now India is ready for business," he said. Modi's visit to China was eminently successful
Mongolia
From Shanghai PM Modi flew to Mongolia on 16th May evening arriving later at the Ulan Bator airport. Modi was accorded a grand ceremonial welcome
Modi's interaction with Mongolian leaders was warm and profound. He declared that Mongolia was an integral part of India's Act East Policy. He extended to Mongolia a line of credit of $ 1 billion for infrastructure development. India and Mangolia signed agreements covering a host of areas including renewable energy, investment etc. Modi also addressed Mongolian Parliament and visited a Buddhist monastery in capital Ulan Bator. Modi also took part in Mongolia's traditional Naadam festival
The 14 agreements signed included areas such as policing and surveillance, air services, cyber security, renewable energy and civil nuclear regime, with New Delhi gifting Ulan Bator with an indigenous cancer treatment medicine as he was the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Mongolia.
South Korea
From Mongolia Prime Minister Modi flew to South Korea.
South Korea pledged $ 10 billion for infrastructure pro-jects in India as the two nations signed seven agreements on the first day of PM Narendra Modi visit. Both countries on May 18, 2015 agreed to upgrade their ties to special strategic partnership and deepen defence cooperation after Modi and S. Korean President Park Geun-hye discussed issues ranging from diplomacy and economy to the security situation in Korean Peninsula.
Seven out of 10 points in the joint statement were focussed on defence cooperation, including exchanges between South Korean and Indian Shipyards, and their navies.
One of the deals signed on May 18, 2015 was on avoidance of double taxation (DTAA), a key step at forging closer economic relations

Subtle China Hints India to Join Xi's Grand Sea Trade Plan
China and India are ideal partners for deep seabed mining, Chinese government scientists said in a new if thinly veiled overture to New Delhi to join President Xi Jinping's ambitious plan to revive an ancient sea trade route through the Indian Ocean
The project envisages linking China via the Indian Ocean to Africa and onwards with links to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India.
China has made it overtly clear that it wants India to be part of the project, not because any maritime project passing through the Indian Ocean is close to coastal India, but not involving the South Asian giant could lead to diplomatic inconvenience.
But India has so far not shown enthusiasm for the project, saying details are vague
China's deep-sea manned submersible Jiaolong went on an expedition in the south-west Indian Ocean recently and according to reports discovered large deposits of precious metals like gold and silver.
"He is a peace icon and an example for world peace. That is what we are going to do to fulfil our purpose despite the consistent refusal by the British government for dialogue."
