Echuca Twin Rivers Primary School is a new school located at 163 Wilkinson Drive, Echuca, 3564.

What is the Government’s policy on school enrolments?

The Education and Training Reform Act 2006 states that all students are entitled to enrol at their designated neighbourhood government school. It underpins the Department of Education and Training (DET) enrolment policy which can be found at:

http://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/principals/spag/Pages/azindexe.aspx

Echuca Twin Rivers Primary School will follow the Priority Order of Placement clause in the Policy when enrolling students:

How is the designated neighbourhood school defined?

DET produces maps that show the designated neighbourhood boundary for schools and the addresses for which that school is the nearest, measured by direct distance.

The designated neighbourhood area is based on the concept of the nearest school, taking into account the major geographic markers of the area and aligned to streets.

When a new school is established, boundaries for neighbouring schools are adjusted to accommodate the new school. DET will work closely with schools in the area to address the changing demographics of the local population, and will revise designated neighbourhood boundaries for schools as needed.
