The aim of the lesson:
Educational: - According to the lesson’s educational purpose is to improve pupils’ knowledge on job interviews; - teaach how to behave during job interviews, raise awareness of related vocabulary Developing: - According to the lesson’s educational purpose is to develop grammar skills, listening skills; reading for general information
Socio-cultural: -to raise awareness of other cultures, teaching to respect them
Competence: SC2, FLCC and PC in talking about job interview
Learning outcomes: At the end of the lesson pupils will be able to talk about job interviews; - use related vocabulary; - answer questions and ask appropriate questions from interviewer
Type of the lesson: non-standard, mixed

Procedure of the lesson:

  1. Organizing moment: - Greeting.

  • Check for homework given on past lesson. Ask pupils all new words learnt on previous lesson.

Activity 1 a) Ask pupil’s to look at the picture on their book. Ask questions about who they are, what they are doing, what they are talking about. Accept any answer. They have to look at the picture and guess the situation:

b) There are given 8 sentences with pictures. Tell your class to match these pictures with sentences Match sentences a-h with pictures 1-8 to describe each step of the interview process.

Activity 2 Ask your pupils to match the words relating to job with their definitions.

Activity 3 Before playing audio explain pupils that two friends have a conversation. One of them applied to job and had an interview. Ask pupils to listen to the dialogue between them. There are given wrong sentences. They should rewrite them correctly.
