Solar simulators for I-V measurement
If a 3-channel measurement is performed for each I-V data point (PV device current, PV
device voltage, irradiance) only STI will be relevant for classification
and LTI will be
informative but nevertheless has to be assessed and reported.
The LTI value is a direct indicator for the required irradiance correction
of the measured I-V
curve. The use of incorrect I-V correction parameters is a source of measurement uncertainty.
The larger the
irradiance correction, the greater is the effect.
Limitations for LTI in
combination with I-V correction may be given in other IEC standards. Further uncertainty
aspects are discussed in IEC TR 60904-14.
If a 2-channel measurement per I-V data point is performed (PV
device current,
PV device
voltage) LTI will be relevant for classification and STI is informative.
