The LightJockey driver used for the PCI card is identical to the one used for the ISA card on Windows
2000/XP PCs - so if the driver is already installed, the following steps can be skipped.
Also as the driver used for the ISA card is a generic Windows driver it may already be installed on the
PC to drive other types of (non LightJockey related) hardware. The installer checks to see if the driver
is already installed and displays a message accordingly. If the driver is already installed on the PC, it is
not necessary to install the driver again.
The installation program for the driver is located in the \HardwareDrivers\ISA_PCI\
folder (1). In order for the install program to be able to install the driver, the user must be logged
in to Windows 2000/XP with administrator rights.
Use Windows explorer to open the folder, then select and double click to run the Installer (Installer.exe)
program to install the driver for the PCI card.
If the driver is installed on a Windows 95,98 or ME computer, Windows needs to restart in order for the
driver to load - under Windows 2000/XP a restart is not necessary.
Once the driver has been installed (and Windows restarted if needed), click Locate Card(s) to verify
that all drivers has installed correctly and the card(s) can be found. The list will show all PCI4064 cards
well as any
LightJockey ISA
 cards installed.
LightJockey driver Installation program - listing cards
(1) On the LightJockey CD the \HardwareDrivers\ folder is placed in the root directory. The folder is
also copied to the hard disk when LightJockey is installed or updated - it can be found in the folder
where LightJockey was installed to.
(2) In Windows 2000/XP, Right click my computer on the desktop, select Properties then on the
Hardware tab click Device Manager. In Windows 95/95/ME right click My Computer on the desktop,
then select the Device Manager tab.
Configuring LightJockey
Once both drivers have been installed and verified, start LightJockey and use the
Detect DMX hardware function
to configure LightJockey to use the new card as DMX transmitter.
See
Setting Transmitter hardware options
for notes on setup options and
XLR Cable Connections
for instructions on how to connect the card to the serial link.
Removing and re-installing the LightJockey PCI/ISA driver
IMPORTANT NOTE: The 4064 PCI/ISA driver is a generic windows driver that may be used to
drive other types of hardware installed the PC. Removing the driver may cause other hardware
to stop working. Do not remove the driver unless you are absolutely sure that it is not needed
for other types of hardware.
To remove the driver, start the installer program and click Remove Current Driver.

Re-installing the driver is done in two steps. First use the installer to remove the driver. Then close the
installer and restart it to install the driver again.
On Windows 95/98/Me it will be necessary to restart between removing and re-installing the driver.
Note that in case the diver is used by active applications it will not be removed completely until
Windows is restarted. If the driver will not install after being removed (indicated by an error message
when trying to install) - restart Windows to remove the driver completely before installing the driver
again.

The 4064 ISA card exists in two versions, Club and DJ, and is supported in Windows 95,98,ME, 2000
and XP installations.
Complete instructions for installing the 4064 ISA Card are shipped with the card and may also be
downloaded from the
Martin website
Windows 95,98 and ME installation.
No special drivers are required - just install the card and startup LightJockey.
Windows 2000/XP Installation
In order for LightJockey to recognize the card in Windows 2000/XP, a special driver must be installed
using the ISA/PCI driver installation program .The program is located in the
\HardwareDrivers\ISA_PCI\ folder. In order for the install program to be able to
install the driver, the user must be logged in to Windows 2000/XP with administrator rights.
The driver when used in Windows 2000/XP is a dynamically loading driver so a Windows restart is not
required after the driver has been installed.
Use Windows explorer to open the folder, then select and double click to run the Installer (Installer.exe)
program to install the driver for the ISA card.
As the driver used for the ISA card is a generic Windows 2000/XP driver it may already be installed on
the PC to drive other types of (non LightJockey related) hardware. The installer checks to see if the
driver is already installed and displays a message accordingly. If the driver is already installed on the
PC, it is not necessary to install the driver again.

Installing the ADP (Parallel Port) DMX interface

The DMXADP Interface
The DMXADP interface connects the PC parallel port (printer port). It also requires external power
(using the keyboard connector on the PC and special adapter cables). The interface transmits 512
DMX channels and is not capable of receiving DMX. The DMXADP interface is not supported on
Windows 2000/XP PCs. No special drivers are required to use the interface. Connect the interface,
start to PC and start LightJockey. If found, the interface will show up on the detect hardware list. Select
the interface and restart LightJockey to activate the interface. The DMX refresh rate from the interface
cannot be changed.
Special notes for laptop users
.
Laptops often use different power saving schemes to try to save as much battery power as possible.
Disabling or reducing power for the parallel port or the external keyboard connector will cause the
DMXADP interface to malfunction. To avoid this it is highly recommended to disable all power saving
settings on the laptop.
