middle of the picture. A road stretched from the entrance door to-

wards the off-shore road. Asefi pasha sits on red hexagon stool in 

the middle of the castle, the rebels’ leaders, two companion-in-arms 

in the back, the soldiers having conflicts at the bottom part. Various 

turquoise piles of flowers exist on the ground, violet and blue outside 

the castle and edges of water and on surface-different pile of flowers. 

The painter decribes the castle larger than other two miniatures in 

order to attract attention to the events happened inside the castle. 

He described Asefi alone to show his remaining alone in the square.  

Summary

The miniatures in “Shujaetname” work by Asefi are the first known 

and only views Gabala Castle. These miniatures assume great im-

portance since not any image of Gabala Castle is known to histo-

riography of Azerbaijan up to date. In fact the basic purpose of the 

artist was not to describe the castle, but to bring the event which 

happened to Asefi, to the reader. But it makes us closer to real mod-

ern view of the castle with Asefi’s study well and mastering extra 

knowledge on Gabala Castle.

uzanır. Qalanın ortasında qırmızı rəngli altıbucaq kətil üstündə 

outran Asəfi paşa, üsyançıların başçıları, arxasında iki silahdarı, 

alt  hissədə  mübahisə  edən  əsgərlər  görünür.  Yer  firuzəyi, 

qalanın həm bayır hissəsi, həm də su kənarı bənövşəyi və mavi 

rəngli,  üzərində  müxtəlif  gül  topaları  vardır.  Rəssam  qalanın 

içərisində baş verən hadisələrə diqqəti çəkmək üçün digər iki 

miniatürə nisbətən qalanı daha böyük formada verir. O, Asəfini 

tək göstərməklə onun meydanda tək qaldığını göstərmək üçün 

təsvir etmişdir.

Nəticə

Asəfinin “Şücaətnamə” əsərindəki miniatürlər Qəbələ qalasının 

bizə bəlli olan ilk və yeganə görüntüləridir. İndiyədək Qəbələ 

qalasının  heç  bir  təsviri  Azərbaycan  tarixşünaslığına  bəlli 

olmadığı  üçün  bu  miniatürlər  böyük  əhəmiyyət  daşıyır. 

Düzdür, rəssamın əsas məqsədi qalanı təsvir etmək olmamışdır, 

onu  Asəfinin  başına  gələn  hadisəni  oxucuya  çatdırmaq 

maraqlandırmışdır. Lakin Asəfinin mətnini yaxşı mənimsədiyi 

və Qəbələ qalası haqqında əlavə bilgilərə malik olduğu qalanın 

müasir real görüntüsünə yaxınlıq təşkil edir.
