John Arklay present Deacon of the Hammerman Trade of Dundee Which day John Chalmers Low Plumber Dundee was admitted and received a free Master of the said Hammerman Trade as a Plumber both he and his representatives and free Apprentices being Burgesses as use is. It being hereby declared that the said John Chalmers Low and his foresaid shall not be a liberty by his present entry to do any work belonging to any of the other arts or branches of the said Hammerman Trade but are restricted to that sort of work which properly belong to or is ordinarily wrought by a Plumber allenarly. And the said John Chalmers Low having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon and the Clerk was instructed to deliver to the said John Chalmers Low an extract on the proper stamp. And the said Daniel Duff having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon and the Clerk was instructed to deliver to the said Daniel Duff an extract on the proper stamp. And the said James Mill having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon and the Clerk was instructed to deliver to the said Daniel Duff an extract on the proper stamp. It being hereby declared that the said John Gow and his foresaid shall not be a liberty by his present entry to do any work belonging to any of the other arts or branches of the said Hammerman Trade but are restricted to that sort of work which properly belong to or is ordinarily wrought by a Blacksmith allenarly. And the said John Gow having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon and the Clerk was instructed to deliver to the said John Gow an extract on the proper stamp. John Gow already entered Page 30 At Dundee the twenty second day of August eighteen hundred and thirty six John Arklay present Deacon of the Hammerman Trade of Dundee Which day Thomas Low Clocksmith and Watchmaker Dundee was admitted and received a free Master of the said Hammerman Trade as a Clocksmith and Watchmaker both he and his representatives and free Apprentices. It being hereby declared that the said Thomas Low and his foresaid shall not be a liberty by his present entry to do any work belonging to any of the other arts or branches of the said Hammerman Trade but are restricted to that sort of work which properly belong to or is ordinarily wrought by a Clocksmith and Watchmaker allenarly. And the said Thomas Low having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon. And for instructing that the said Thomas Low had been admitted a Freeman or Burgess of Dundee he produced his Burgess Ticket or Certificate under the hands of William Barrie Town Clerk bears that the said Thomas Low had been admitted a free Burgess and that an act of record of his admission was written on the proper stamp. It being hereby declared that the said John McIntosh and his foresaid shall not be a liberty by his present entry to do any work belonging to any of the other arts or branches of the said Hammerman Trade but are restricted to that sort of work which properly belong to or is ordinarily wrought by a Blacksmith allenarly. And the said John McIntosh having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon. At Dundee the twenty sixth day of October eighteen hundred and thirty eight Thomas Cuthbert present Deacon of the Hammerman Trade of Dundee Which day Alexander Constable lawful son of William Constable Watch and Clockmaker, Goldsmith and Jeweller was admitted and received a free Master of the said Hammerman Trade both he and his representatives and free Apprentices. It being hereby declared that the said Alexander Constable and his foresaid shall not be a liberty by his present entry to do any work belonging to any of the other arts or branches of the said Hammerman Trade but are restricted to that sort of work which properly belong to or is ordinarily wrought by a Goldsmith allenarly. And the said Alexander Constable having given his oath of fidelity to the Trade in common form, signs these presents along with the Deacon.
