The qlk day in ane Court holden be William Dow present Deacon of the hamlermen Craft of this Burgh and haill members of the sd Trade. considering the wellfair & profit of the poor of the sd Trade & the common good yrof and that they through severall reasons knows themselfes have being occasioned to contract debt to the grief & predjudice of the sd craft. Therefore the sd Deacon & brethren of craft all of one mynd consent & assent Doe herby enact & ordain that the quarter compts shall be payed four tymes in the year viz: three shill & four pennies ilk head Court day to the Deacon or Boxmaster within the Houff of Dundee extending yearlie to thertein shill & four pennies Scots money.
Item: It is ordained & macken be the sd Deacon & remanent brethren that each allien Masters shall pay for and in lieu of the banquet formerlie in use to be given eight pound Scots money and that by & attour ane quart of wyn before opening of the Locked Book.
Item: That all free Masters sons shall pay for their banquet fiftie pound moe forsd and the quart of wyn and fiftie pound of Booking money extending in heill to twentie pound.
Ietm That all frie prentises shall pay at his entrie to be a prentise twentie merks and at his entrie to be a Master twelve pound Scots without anie banquet.
And lastlie all banquets feasts & unnecessary drinking on the Trades expenses be the Deacon present & to come or anie others of the Trade is herby discharged in amm tyme coming.

The qlk day in ane Court holden be William Dow present Deacon of the hambermen craft of Dundie and remanent brethren & Members of the sd craft. Considering the welfair and prosperitie of the Trade and haveing bein formarllie prejudiced by the entrie of Jurneymen and withdrawing of themselves from the Masters service to who they first ingaged themselves to work. Therefoir and without predjudice of former acts made by the sd Trade for & to the effect above and after mentioned but in further fortified of the samen the sd Deacon & brethren of craft hereby inact & ordain that in all time coming each Journeyman shall pay to the Trade at their Booking one pound ten shills Scots and the Master to ten shill Scots if the servant remain with him the speace of ane year and if the same servt so entered & booked as ane jurneyman shall rematie from his Master to ane other Master within the libertie that he shall pay to the sd Trade syxtein shill moe for each tyme so oft as he shall goe from Master to Master. And if the same jurneyman booked as sd us shall returne from ane Master in the country to ane master wtin the libertie that he shall pay ten shill moe forsd at his entrie. The which day George McCrockat pnt Deacon of the Hammermen of Dundie and remanent members of the sd Trade statute and enact that in all time hereafter none shall be entered free Masters to any of the Act of the said Trade without paying One hundred merks Scots ready money for his freedome and satisfying the Trade by an Essay as to his qualification in the art to qhch he is to enter unless yr be none of that Art to which any person shall hereafter offer to enter to serve the place thir pnts being allwayes but prejudice to the priviledge off free was tersons or free prentices.

Att Dundie the second day of January one thousand seven hundred and twenty eight years

Which day Henry Smith present Deacon and remanent Members if the Hammerman Trade of Dundie subscriving. Takeing to their consideration that the members of the said Trade are numerous and ther business and employment small. And that there accidents and Booking money is inconsiderable. And they all being fully convinced and persuaded that it would tend very much to the common well and advantage of the said Trade and to the support of the poor therof that the booking money be augmeneted.

they therefore unanimously Statute and enact that from and after this date that no unfreemen shall be entered a free Master in the sd Hammerman Trade to any of the Arts or branches yrof under One Hundred merks Scots money for his freedom and sixty pound money forsd of Booking money besides serving a year Officer and satisfying the Trade with as sufficient Essay as appointed by them and that none shall hereafter be booked a free Apprentice in the sd Trade under the like sume of Sixty pound Scots of booking money. This being but predjudice to free Masters sons. And the Deacon andmembers of craft appoint this present Act to be ubviolably ibserved in all time comeing. Att Dundie the Twenty first day of June jajvij & thirty three years

Which day George Miller present Deacon of the Hammerman Trade of Dundie and remanent Members brethren of the said Trade being mett and convened in order to consult anent the common affairs of the Trade and taking to their consideration that there is no Act of the Trade where the dues of intrants therto are clearly liquidate and established and that the dues in use to be payed b the freemen are as follows. Vizt: three pound Scots as the dues of their first Court to which application is made for their entry One hundred merks as the dues of their freedom. Two pounds Scots att opening the locked Book in order to insert their admission thereon. Twelve pounds Scots of Booking money, five merks money for aid to the General fund raised for the use of the Nine Trades. Twelve pound Scots of their fie or ane obligation to serve one year officer to the Trade in their option and four pounds Scots for the benefite of the Trades Seats in the Churches and of the Mortcloth and to each free Masters son grany Hammerman marrying a free Masters Daughter are to pay Twelve pounds Scots in full of their freedom & no more. They unanimously statute and enact that the foresaids dues be punctually exacted from each person entering a member to the said trade in time coming and that none be so entered Member until they be first admitted Burgess of the sd Burgh and perform an Essay to the satisfaction of the Trade as to their qualification for the Art to which they are to be entered and appoint thir presents to be inviolably observed in time comeing which is subscribed place & date forsaid by:

At a Meeting of the General Fund Court of the Nine Incprporated Trades of Dundee

It was resolved and agreed that in recignition of the Famous Naval Victory at the Battle of Camperdown in 1797 the British Naval Force at the time being Commanded by Admiral Lord Adam Duncan of Lundie Dundee to offer Honoaray Membership of the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee to the Captain of HMS Duncan for the time.
