Conceptual and theoretical framework
The research is designed in the context of the qualitative research
model, considering the way in which data collection processes and the
way in which the data obtained are handled. Qualitative research is the
most commonly used research model in social sciences and is designed
to elicit perceptions that guide the behavior of the target group and refer
to specific topics or topics (Qualitative Research Consultants Association,
2017). Qualitative surveys provide the results of research based on codes
and categorizations by reading individual data (Montarag, Merriam,
2014).
For this purpose, theses related to the use of technology in foreign
language teaching were examined with document examination technique,
which is one of the qualitative research methods, and tried to describe
the data obtained within the framework of determined criteria. Document
review is a systematic review and evaluation of both printed and
electronic documents (computerized and transmitted via the internet)
(Corbin and Strauss, 2008; Bowen, 2009). A document review enables
the analysis of a research problem based on documents produced within
a specific time frame or on a wide range of documents produced by
multiple sources in a given period (Yildirim and Simsek, 2000, pp. 140-
143). In this context, it has been decided that the most appropriate
research method is the qualitative research method of document review
technique, considering the nature of the research, and the theses
examined within the scope of the research.
Method
The research data were obtained according to the document review
technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Within the
context of the research, the theses for the topic were examined according
to five basic stages of the document review technique. These steps; (1)
reaching the documents, (2) checking the authenticity, (3) understanding
the documents, (4) analyzing the data, and (5) using the data (Canbulat,
Avci and Sipahi, 2016). "Review of Graduate Theses Related to School
