-Suffered I this torment by,
And not know the reason why.
-I believed the men – was humble,
Only patience – faith, you said.
-And for me that trust made trouble,
In result a tomb I made.
-No place indeed to follow by,
Mummy, let me move your way.
-You are exhausted, pretty my,
Stand a little, oh, I say.
-Call me on, just you can save,
Heart will happy be at all.
-If you also go to grave,
Who’ll me in the world recall?
As you can see, in order to comply with the original text, the translator “abused” inversions,
as a result of which the text is read with tension: “Suffered I this torment by” (I suffered from
torment), although according to the rule of word order in a sentence, it would be more logical “I
suffered the torment ”, besides, the preposition “by” entails the continuation of the reason from which
“she experienced torment”, but, unfortunately, blindly following the rhythm and rhyme, the author of
the translation did not finish this statement. In the next sentence "Baby, all it disregard" this
rearrangement of the members of the sentence led to a radical change in meaning. He got "Baby,
disregard all it" (?!), although it should have been "Baby, disregard all it" "Baby, do not pay attention
to all this." Here's another example: "Who'll me in the world recall?" (who will remember me in this
world?). Here the adverb “in the world” is in the middle of the interrogative sentence, but should be
at the end (rarely at the beginning): “Who’ll recall me in the world?”.
Also, there are a number of inaccuracies in this translation:
- there is no agreement between the members of the proposal:
"Be more patient and endure" (be patient and endure). The conjunction "and" (and) combines words
in alternation, therefore, the verb "Be" with the comparative adjective "more patient" also needs an
adjective, and not the verb "endure". In this case, the translator would need to swap these lexical
units: “Endure and be more patient”, then the verbs would alternate, which corresponds to the
grammar of the English language;
- inconsistency between singular and plural:
“Men become malicious why, Always struggles with each other” (why people become evil, always
fight each other). Here the noun "Men" is plural, and the verb "struggles" corresponds to the singular
in the Present Simple (present simple tense) for the third person, so "struggle" would be more correct;
- incorrect phraseological turn:
“In result a tomb I made” (As a result, I created a grave), “In result” is lexically incorrectly used,
correctly - “as a result”;
- Incorrect use of pronoun forms:
“Me myself” (I myself) is erroneously used, here a personal pronoun is needed in the
nominative case with a reflexive pronoun - “I myself”. Also, in the next phrase "pretty my" (my
charm), instead of the pronoun "my", he should have used the possessive pronoun "mine".
In this regard, it is appropriate to recall the statement of A. Schweitzer: “It is my deep
conviction that no modern attempts to model form can lead to anything other than emasculating the
content and inhibiting creativity, which should manifest itself in the freedom to choose new
individual, unregulated and unprogrammed means of expression, and not in mathematically
calculated and naturally predetermined models of creativity. Despite the understandable temptation
to penetrate the essence of phenomena with modern precise means, I have great doubts about all
attempts at an extra-aesthetic, mathematically justified assessment of artistic creativity. Creativity is
