Be sure to clean as you go; it’s best not to allow Green Glue to dry before clean up. Gently use a paint scraper to remove any dry product on walls, do not use a cleaner that will damage any floors or furniture if Green Glue is present. STEP 1 - Hanging the First Layer of Drywall Use normal drywall screws to attach the board to the studs/joists following your local building codes. Each layer of drywall should have a 1/4” gap at the perimeter, this includes top, bottom and both ends of the wall or floor. It is important that soundproof surfaced no be hard butted to those that are not- this will enable vibration to possible hinder results. Mudding seams is required for both layers to insure best results, one coat is usually sufficient, taping is optional for first layer. Optional use of acoustical sealant at seams may provide better results. Step 2 Application Of Green Glue Carefully cut tip of tube, screw on the application nozzle. Cut tip of application nozzle at 45 degree angle to a minimum 3/8" opening- a larger opening will allow quicker installation 1/2" is not too big at all. Apply Green Glue in a random pattern covering the entire area, leave some room at perimeter for drywall sheets for handling the boards without getting hands in the Green Glue. Note- Green Glue is UL Certified and has complete environmental testing. Please contact us for any required documentation WALL INSTALLATION GUIDE • Use a standard quart size caulking gun to apply Green Glue. • Normal application time is 30 seconds per tube • Green Glue is applied to boards flat on the floor, not on the wall • Complete coverage is not the correct method of installation • No rolling, troweling or painting; a random pattern of Green Glue provides the best performance. Install first layer of drywall Use acoustical caulk along perimeter. Cut a 3/8” or more opening in application nozzle. Remove gun from box, operate plunger several times to verify it is working correctly. Cut 3/8” opening in tip. OptiOn: Use a 3/8” notched trowel, apply in a random pattern. Full coverage is not recommended. Green Glue will be applied to second layer of drywall, flat on the ground. Green Glue will be installed over first layer of subfloor, before second layer is installed. STAGGER ALL SEAMS. 1 DO NOT PUT TIP ON GUN; with plunger almost fully depressed gently push open tube onto gasketed opening until sealed. 3 DiSCLAiMER: These application notes represent generally accepted procedures for successful installation. Sound Isolation Company reserves the right to alter these suggestions and encourages contact with the factory or its representatives to review any possible modification to these application notes prior to commencing installation. 2 Remove top from pail, gently set follower plate on open pail with Gasket and hole facing up.
Gently push down on plate with gun and pull up on plunger until the tube is full. By using proper pressure you should not see leaks where follower plate meet the pail walls.
Twist on tip and apply Green Glue in a completely random pattern; for drywall leave a perimeter gap to avoid wetting hands during installation.
Repeat steps 1-5 until pail is empty, remove follower plate and go to next bucket.

El Green Glue es oloroso. De la misma manera que Ud. puede oler pintura mientras pinta un cuarto, también podrá oler el Green Glue mientras se aplica. Mantenga el cuarto bien ventilado para prevenir una obstrucción del olor. Green Glue no tiene olor una vez que se haya secado.
Después de colgar la primera tabla de yeso, se recomienda que Ud. selle las juntas entre las tablas. Esto se puede hacer con masilla para calafatear o barro de tablas de yeso. Tome cuidado de no utilizar una cantidad muy grande de cualquier de los dos productos que esto puede prevenir que la segunda tabla no se siente plano (abajo). Si el tiempo es un asunto, se puede omitir este paso y sellar el perímetro después que la última tabla de yeso se instale.
Corte la punta dejando una apertura de 3/8”. Use un clavo o una pieza de alambre para romper el sello.
Aplique el Green Glue a la espalda de la segunda tabla sobre una superficie limpia y plano. El uso de un banco de trabajo ayudará en prevenir que la tabla se ensucie o que se dañe en el piso. Aplique el Green Glue al azar en granos de 3/8”.
Deje un margen de 2-3 pulgadas alrededor de la orilla de la materia de la tabla de yeso o construcción. Esto le permitirá llevar la hoja sin llenarse las manos con Green Glue. COLGANDO LA SEGUNDA TABLA: Después de la aplicación del Green Glue, hay que usar los tornillos normales de la tabla de yeso para enroscarla a los montantes.
