3.4 Observation report
Observation report
The word teaching is a simple word but its meaning or significant is not so and the term effective teaching demands various integrated activities in teaching-learning system.
The main aim of writing this report is to reflect on the teacher’s methods, approaches which were used in their class and class environment. In my passive practice I observed Abdullayeva Muhayyo’s lesson. In the process of observation, I took into consideration her approach, skill, knowledge and method.
I want to share with you, my observation; It was my mentor Abdullayeva Muhayyo’s lesson. The theme of her demo lesson was “Ant families”. Lesson was organized well. She used mixed methods such as audio-lingual, silent way, suggestopedia methods. In the beginning of the lesson, she gave pupils warming-up activities, then she explained new topic. She divided class into two parts and conducted lesson as a game. In her lesson she made a mistake. she did not pay attention time management. But by and large, she chose different games and materials. It is clear to all that effective teachers use an array of teaching strategies because there is no single, universal approach that suits all situations. Different strategies used in different combinations with different groups of students to improve their learning outcomes. Some teaching strategies are better suited to teaching certain skills and fields of knowledge than are others.
To sum up, after observing teachers’ lesson I learnt teaching methods, approaches and so on. I understood that Effective teachers establish an instructional environment that will draw on these strengths.
the lesson. But my mentor Abdullayeva Muhayyo amend my mistakes. Day by day I tried to act as a real teacher. The themes of my demo lessons were “Sports” , “She has /He has” , “What kind of friend are you?”. To tell the truth, all my lessons were successful and I tried my best. I used colorful cards, games during my lessons. I would like to describe my lesson on the topic “Fun sports”. The type my lesson was non-traditional lesson. For explain a new topic I used grammar-translation method. Furthermore, I gave different activities to pupils. When we practice a new theme, we use audio-lingual and direct methods.
It is clear to all that teachers are also psychologists. He is a clever pupil. But he is being stubborn and naughty and I tried to work with him. I took information about his family, friends. I approached to him a psychologist. I conversed as his friend. I have realized that the importance of working with pupils is being tactful in every time.
To sum up, I can say, this job is not pushover and we have to respect our teachers. Moreover, without any doubt that the practice effected in my life and future job effectively. Each lesson has played an essential role in pupils’ life and their future job too. According to lessons’ effect and result pupils also respect and obey their teacher. I hope in future I will be the best and responsible teacher.
