Shopping is a necessary part of life which very few people can avoid. It is a daily routine 
for some people. Some people go shopping for pleasure while others go shopping just to buy the 
necessary items. The weekend is usually a good time to go shopping because people have free 
time from work. Some people go shopping more regularly than others to see products in shops 
even when they do not buy anything. This is known as window shopping which allows people to 
plan ahead and save money for the things they want to buy in the future. Sometimes shopping 
can be stressful when choosing a gift for other people on a special occasion. It is common to buy 
a gift voucher so that a friend or a loved one can go shopping themselves. Shopping online is 
often popular with people who have a busy lifestyle. Delivery is usually free and items are often 
cheaper than in regular shops. The only problem is that the description and quality of item may 
be different than what they had paid for.

Clothing is something we all should wear. Clothes are for keeping people warm or serving as 
protection from the strong burning sun. Certain clothes can be expensive, especially if they are 
made by a well-known brand or a famous designer. In most countries clothing is taxed, while 
food is not. Formal and smart clothing is often worn in times of celebration. Some jobs require 
people to wear a special uniform which should be worn by all employees. A pilot, a doctor or an 
air hostess may be required to wear a uniform so that people can easily recognize them. Other 
jobs are less strict and may allow people to wear simple clothes. Construction workers are usually 
asked to wear protective clothes, especially when the workplace is considered highly dangerous. 
People often choose to wear comfortable clothing inside their own houses. Old people are likely to 
wear baggy clothes, while young people often wear tighter clothing. Younger females often wear 
high heeled shoes while elderly people tend to wear more comfortable shoes which will allow them 
to walk easily.
