naMing: Moral and aXiological asPects

The authors consider such a ubiquitous and universal phenomenon, as naming. The focus of the publication is 

directed to the aspect of moral value, that is, characteristics such as humane / inhumane, honest / dishonest, fair 

/ unfair, respectful / disrespectful, and the like. Considered in detail the situation of naming. Namely: WHO 

(WHAT)  -  IN  WHAT  SITUATIONS  IS  NAMED,  IN  WHAT  socio  -  cultural  CONTEXT,  on  the  BASIS  OF 

WHICH MOTIVES, FOR WHAT PURPOSE - WHAT IS THIS NAME – AND What is the attitude to this name 

all the participants of the situation. Objective assessment of the situation of naming, according to the authors, 

gives an opportunity to minimize moral risks, and allows people intelligently, respectfully, responsibly to fit into 

the culture that we find at our birth, and which we are leaving after our departure.

Key words: naming, the naming situation, the moral and axiological aspects of naming.
