influence reservoir on tHe structure of tHe land fund in tHe HaMrin Basin (iraq)
In this work the results of research Hamrin basin based on remote sensing data.To study the study area, we
used the imaging scene coverage Landsat MSS (1973) to create a reservoir, Landsat TM (1990) in the rainy
season and ETM (2000) in the dry season to the territory the basin of Hamrin. Further data were used Aster
Dem (30 m) radar imagery covering the study area.On the basis of the mapping scale of 1:250,000 for Hamrin-
basin two time slices to the construction of the reservoir and after its construction as well as for the different
seasons of the land fund were revealed dynamics. Were traced especially changes tipped the land fund in the
dry and wet periods.
Key words: Land Fund, Hamrin Basin, reservoir, imaging and Iraq.

The article is dedicated to the 9
th
meeting of the society “Science and Technology in the European Periphery”
that took place in Lisbon from 1 to 3 September 2014. Center and periphery metaphor has been actively used in
historical works. The researchers of the society attempt to challenge the established historiographical models and
to reassess the role of periphery as of a passive receiver of technologies and ideas coming from the center. Major
themes, methodological features and research perspectives are reviewed.
Key words: center and periphery, history of science and technology, culturology of technology, history of con-
cepts.
