That morning Alex did not feel well. He had hardly slept all night and now had a splitting headache. Nevertheless, he went to the Science Museum /Library where he had ordered some books and journals the day before. But he could hardly work at all. His head was now throbbing violently and there were moments when he felt as if the whole reading-room was going round. Alex took a couple of aspirins, but they did not seem to do any good. By lunchtime he had to admit that he was running a temperature — he felt hot and shivery all the time. So, feeling rather sorry for himself, Alex decided to return to his hotel.
