Text. Evening at the Theatre
One day in March Charles Clark invited Alex Stepanov to spend an evening at the theatre with him and his wife. There are over thirty theatres in London, each offering a different play, musical, revue, or variety show. So Charles studied the entertainment section in the newspaper for a long time before deciding which theatre to go to. Wishing to show his guest something light and amusing he eventually chose the stage production of “My Fair Lady” at the Drury Lane Theatre, a musical based on George Bernard Shaw’s famous play “Pygmalion”. It was a great success and had been running for many years.
