Royal Swedish Ballet
“Honoring our past while nourishing the future” – The Royal Swedish Ballet, one of
the oldest ballet companies in the world, has a strong foundation in the classical ballet
repertoire as well as capacity and curiosity in contemporary dance.
The Royal Swedish Opera was founded in 1773 by His Majesty Gustav III as a national
stage for Ballet and Opera. In recent years the ballet has made guest appearances in
France, Greece, Switzerland, China and Spain as well as touring within Sweden.
With a repertoire including ballets by some of the world’s most renowned choreographers
the Royal Swedish Ballet actively commissions works, by amongst others Swedish
choreographers such as Mats Ek, Örjan Andersson, Johan Inger and Alexander Ekman.
As part of our 240-year celebration in 2013, Mats Ek will create a new full length piece
for the Royal Swedish Ballet. His own interpretation of Romeo and Juliet is performed to
a new score arranged on music by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky.

Ruby Rose
/Rebecca Westholm
“There is no better way to prove the absurdity of a social problem than laughing at it in
its face.”
Sweden´s most fabulous production company Ruby Rose, consists of Agnes Rosenberg,
Angela Wand and Rebecca Westholm. Since 2005 they have produced their own
productions as well as different types of shows, clubs, parties, films and events. Their
last show was the country- and western variety show The Big Ass BBQ which have been
touring in Sweden and Europe for several years. Ruby Rose focus on female artists to
make more space for women on and around the stage.
Eat it! is a fabulous circus and performance, a show filled with humour as well as
seriousness about our own twisted views of our bodies. You might call it “a food disorder
circus show”. Integrating video, a blog and a performance this piece does not end with
the fall of the curtain. It begins. Premieres January 18, 2013 at Turteatern, Stockholm.

Sarah Riedel
“Swedish Grammy-nominated vocalist Sarah Riedel has quickly established herself as an
accomplished performer of lyrical jazz with indie-pop sensibilities.” All About Jazz
Vocalist/Composer Sarah Riedel has received much attention over tha last couple of years
for her personal compositional style and delicate, intimate vocal delivery. Sarah’s singing
is lyrical and she handles text with a minute care for detail. When Sarah sings, there are
no barriers between music, lyrics and the audience.
Sarah leads and writes for several bands among which Sarah Riedel Timeline can be
heard in New York during the APAP Conference in January 2013. In this band Sarah
brings together a string quartet and a jazz trio to form a sound that is warm – at once
youthful and timeless. Audience and critics have given her unified praise and the
reception has also been very favorable internationally; she has toured Japan, USA and
Europe performing at for example the Institute Suèdois in Paris, the Kennedy Center and
Kids Euro Festival in Washington, D.C.

Sebastian Lingserius
Sebastian Lingserius is a young upcoming choreographer based in Stockholm, known for
his sincere interest in linking philosophical concepts and bodily practices. He finished
an MA in choreography at the University College of Dance in Stockholm in 2010.
The piece alt. org, created in 2011 at MDT in Stockholm, presents a set of practices
that all attempt to re-imagine bodily construction. It’s a dance towards the inorganic.
It’s a place where decomposed bodies collide and new bodily organizations occur. The
audience walks around in a gallery space surrounded by hanging illustrations. A slow
transformation to a performance space, where bodies can practice, dance, and give
examples.
The press: “a philosophical work which cleverly twists the concept of evolution and the
perception of nature and man.”

Shake it Collaborations
Shake it Collaborations is an artist driven constellation dedicated to acting, dancing,
doing, shaping, sharing and shaking. Shake it Collaborations consists of Dag Andersson
and Tove Sahlin. They occasionally work together, in an artist couple power unit, or as
individual performers and creators – with loads of passion and experience.
Roses & Beans – a performance about the private, the political and the pop aspects of
love. The performers invite you to a private party in an empty living room with twinkling
eyes, sharp elbows and soft hearts. Together we share a very special moment and a
sweetened cake of romance. Can we produce other stories, since we don’t want to live the
ones we heard before?
The performance has been touring internationally since the premiere in June 2010. It is
an easy set up in foyers, galleries, classrooms, conference halls, museums, livening rooms
and clubs. It can be performed outside if circumstances are good. For outdoors a special
technical set up is needed.
