Key questions:

• 

Green economy diversifies opportunities for city`s economic and social development in environmentally 

friendly manner;

• 

The “green economy” concept pays attention to current climate, environmental, social, financial and 

economic problems.  Kazakhstan has acknowledged this by adapting the Concept of Green Economy at the 

national level in 2013.

• 

In light of current changes, immediate question is to identify the sectors that provide the best opportunities 

to implement the green growth concept, taking into consideration the social protection and need to maintain 

the standard of living. The Government`s green growth strategy enables rethinking the growth in terms of its 

impact on the environment and economic stability, economic diversification and social inclusion.
