SAMA haqida qisqacha

history of Sama

  • Prior to the establishment of the Saudi central bank, it was a branch of the Netherlands Trade society from 1926. The Saudi Dutch bank (nid: Saudi Hollandi Bank) effectively served as the central bank. He held the Kingdom's gold reserves and received oil revenues on behalf of the Saudi Arabian government. The Bank helped create the new Saudi silver coin, which would be considered the kingdom's first independent monetary unit by order of King Abdulaziz in 1928. When SAMA was founded in 1952, the Saudi Dutch bank delegated its responsibility to the new organization and became a model for other foreign banks in the kingdom. The bank's current residence, built in 1985, was designed by American architect Minoru Yamasaki.
