| Ontology of time and space in dictionary and encyclopedy definitions: a conceptual analysis
The paper presents a conceptual analysis of the texts of encyclopedic and dictionary definitions of time and space. The author comes to a conclusion that none of the definitions analyzed in the paper is internally consistent and shows the ontological essence of studied objects. The common feature of all definitions is a close relation of time to the notion of processuality and a close relation of space to the motion of substantiality along with a strong connection of both objects of analysis to the circumstances of human activity linked to sensory experience. The author has all grounds to propose a distinction for the two pairs of terms – the apperceptive categories of time and space (as a function of formation of sensory experience) and the notion of temporality and location (as a function of formation of the cognitive image of the world, a function of conceptualization of experience).
