Sampayogalakkhanavannana

1. Evam (Abv.CS:pg.104) tava cittam bhumijatisampayogasavkharajhanarammanamaggabhedena yatharaham vibhajitva idani cetasikavibhagassa anuppattatta pathamam tava catubbidhasampayogalakkhanasandassanavasena cetasikalakkhanam thapetva, tadanantaram abbasamana-akusalasobhanavasena tihi rasihi cetasikadhamme uddisitva, tesam solasahakarehi sampayogam, tettimsavidhena savgahabca dassetum “ekuppadanirodha catyadi araddham. Cittena saha ekato uppado ca nirodho ca yesam te ekuppadanirodha. Ekam alambanabca vatthu ca yesam te ekalambanavatthuka. Evam catuhi lakkhanehi cetoyutta cittena sampayutta dvipabbasa lakkhana dharanato dhamma niyatayogino, aniyatayogino ca cetasika mata.

Tattha yadi ekuppadamatteneva cetoyuttati adhippeta, tada cittena saha uppajjamananam rupadhammanampi cetoyuttata apajjeyyati ekanirodhaggahanam. Evampi cittanuparivattino vibbattidvayassa pasavgo nasakka nivaretum, tatha “ekato uppado va nirodho va etesanti ekuppadanirodha”ti parikappentassa puretaramuppajjitva cittassa bhavgakkhane nirujjhamananampi rupadhammananti ekalambanaggahanam. Ye evam tividhalakkhana, te niyamato ekavatthuyevatidassanattham ekavatthukaggahananti alamatippapabcena.

2. Kathanti (Abv.CS:pg.105) sarupasampayogakaranam kathetukamyatapuccha. Phusatiti phasso (dha.sa attha.1dhammudesavaraphassapabcamakarasivannana), svayam phusanalakkhano. Ayabhi arupadhammopi samano arammane phusanakareneva pavattati, sa cassa phusanakarappavatti ambilakhadakadinam passantassa parassa kheluppadadi viya datthabba. Vedayati arammanarasam anubhavatiti vedana, sa vedayitalakkhana. Arammanarasanubhavanabhi patva sesasampayuttadhamma ekadesamatteneva rasam anubhavanti, ekamsato pana issaravataya vedanava anubhavati. Tatha hesa “subhojanarasanubhavanakaraja viya”ti vutta. Sukhadivasena panassa bhedam sayameva vakkhati. Niladibhedam arammanam sabjanati sabbam katva janatiti sabba, sa sabjananalakkhana. Sa hi uppajjamana daru-adisu vaddhaki-adinam sabbanakaranam viya paccha sabjananassa karanabhutam akaram gahetva uppajjati. Nimittakarikaya tavetam yujjati, nimittena sabjanantiya pana kathanti? Sapi puna aparaya sabbaya sabjananassa nimittam akaram gahetva uppajjatiti na ettha koci asambhavo.

Ceteti attana sampayuttadhamme arammane abhisandahati, savkhatabhisavkharane va byaparamapajjatiti cetana. Tatha hi ayameva abhisavkharane padhanatta vibhavge suttantabhajaniye savkharakkhandham vibhajantena “savkhatamabhisavkharontiti savkhara”ti (sam.ni.3.79) vatva “cakkhusamphassaja cetana”tyadina (vibha.21) niddittha. Sa cetayitalakkhana, jetthasissamahavaddhaki-adayo viya sakiccaparakiccasadhikati datthabbam. Ekaggatavitakkavicarapitinam sarupavibhavanam hettha agatameva.

Jivanti (Abv.CS:pg.106) tena sampayuttadhammati jivitam, tadeva sahajatanupalane adhipaccayogena indriyanti jivitindriyam, tam anupalanalakkhanam uppaladi-anupalakam udakam viya. Karanam karo, manasmim karo manasikaro, so cetaso arammane samannaharalakkhano. Vitakko hi sahajatadhammanam arammane abhiniropanasabhavatta te tattha pakkhipanto viya hoti, cetana attana arammanaggahanena yatharulhe dhammepi tattha tattha niyojenti balanayako viya hoti, manasikaro te arammanabhimukham payojanato ajaniyanam payojanakasarathi viyati ayametesam viseso. Dhammanabhi tam tam yathavasarasalakkhanam sabhavato pativijjhitva Bhagavata te te dhamma vibhattati Bhagavati saddhaya “evam visesa ime dhamma”ti okappetva uggahanaparipucchadivasena tesam sabhavasamadhigamaya yogo karaniyo, na pana tattha tattha vippatipajjantehi sammoho apajjitabboti ayamettha acariyanam anusasani. Sabbesampi ekunanavuticittanam sadharana niyamato tesu uppajjanatoti sabbacittasadharana nama.

3. Adhimuccanam adhimokkho, so sannitthanalakkhano, arammane niccalabhavena indakhilo viya datthabbo. Viranam bhavo, kammam, vidhina irayitabbam pavattetabbanti va viriyam, ussaho, so sahajatanam upatthambhanalakkhano. Viriyavasena hi tesam olinavuttita na hoti. Evabca katva imassa vitakkadihi viseso supakato hoti. Chandanam chando, arammanena atthikata, so kattukamatalakkhano. Tatha hesa “arammanaggahane cetaso hatthappasaranam viya”ti (dha.sa attha.1yevapanakavannana) vuccati. Danavatthuvissajjanavasena (Abv.CS:pg.107) pavattakalepi cesa vissajjitabbena tena atthikova khipitabba-usunam gahane atthiko issaso viya. Sobhanesu taditaresu ca pakarena kinna vippakinnati pakinnaka.

4. Sobhanapekkhaya itare, itarapekkhaya sobhana ca abbe nama, tesam samana na uddhaccasaddhadayo viya akusaladisabhavayevati abbasamana.

5. Evam tava sabbacittasadharanavasena, pakinnakavasena ca sobhanetarasabhave terasa dhamme uddisitva idani hettha cittavibhage nidditthanukkamena akusaladhammapariyapanne pathamam, tato sobhanadhammapariyapanne ca dassetum “moho”tyadi vuttam. Ahetuka pana avenikadhamma natthiti na te visum vutta. Arammane muyhatiti moho, abbanam, so arammanasabhavacchadanalakkhano. Arammanaggahanavasappavattopi hesa tassa yathasabhavappaticchadanaka-areneva pavattati. Na hiriyati na lajjatiti ahiriko, puggalo, dhammasamuho va. Ahirikassa bhavo ahirikkam, tadeva ahirikam. Na ottappatiti anottappam. Tattha guthato gamasukaro viya kayaduccaritadito ajigucchanalakkhanam ahirikam, aggito salabho viya tato anuttasalakkhanam anottappam. Tenahu porana–

“Jigucchati nahiriko, papa guthava sukaro;

Na bhayati anottappi, salabho viya pavaka”ti.

Uddhatassa (Abv.CS:pg.108) bhavo uddhaccam, tam cittassa avupasamalakkhanam pasanabhighatasamuddhatabhasmam viya. Lubbhatiti lobho, so arammane abhisavgalakkhano makkatalepo viya. Cittassa alambitukamatamattam chando, lobho tattha abhigijjhananti ayametesam viseso. “Idameva saccam, moghamabban”ti micchabhinivesalakkhana ditthi. Banabhi arammanam yathasabhavato janati, ditthi yathasabhavam vijahitva ayathavato ganhatiti ayametesam viseso. “Seyyohamasmi”tyadina mabbatiti mano, so unnatilakkhano. Tatha hesa “ketukamyatapaccupatthano”ti (dha.sa attha.400) vutto. Dussatiti doso, so candikkalakkhano pahatasiviso viya, issatiti issa, sa parasampatti-usuyanalakkhana. Maccharassa bhavo macchariyam, “ma idam acchariyam abbesam hotu, mayhameva hotu”ti pavattam va macchariyam, tam attasampattiniguhanalakkhanam. Kucchitam katanti kukatam. Katakataduccaritasucaritam. Akatampi hi kukatan”ti voharanti “yam maya akatam. Tam kukatan”ti. Idha pana katakatam arabbha uppanno vippatisaracittuppado kukatam, tassa bhavo kukkuccam, tam katakataduccaritasucaritanusocanalakkhanam. Thinanam thinam, anussahanavasamsidanavasena samhatabhavo. Middhanam middham, vigatasamatthiyata, asattivighato va, tattha thinam cittassa akammabbatalakkhanam, middham vedanadikkhandhattayassati ayametesam viseso. Tatha hi paliyam (dha.sa.1162-1163) “tattha katamam thinam? Ya cittassa akallata akammabbata. Tattha katamam middham? Ya kayassa akallata akammabbata”tyadina imesam niddeso pavatto. Nanu ca “kayassa”ti vacanato rupakayassapi akammabbata middhanti tassa rupabhavopi apajjatiti? Napajjati, tattha tattha acariyehi anitakaranavasenevassa (Abv.CS:pg.109) patikkhittatta. Tatha hi middhavadimatappatikkhepanattham tesam vadanikkhepapubbakam atthakathadisu bahudha vittharenti acariya. Ayam panettha savgaho–

“Keci middhampi rupanti, vadantetam na yujjati;

Pahatabbesu vuttatta, kamacchandadayo viya.

“Pahatabbesu akkhata-metam nivaranesu hi.

Rupantu na pahatabba-makkhatam dassanadina.

“‘Na tumham bhikkhave rupam, pajahetha’ti pathato;

Paheyyabhavalesopi, yattha rupassa dissati.

“Tattha tabbisayacchanda-ragahani pakasita.

Vuttabhi tattha yo chanda-ragakkhepoti-adikam.

“Ruparupesu middhesu, arupam tattha desitam;

Iti ce natthi tam tattha, avisesena pathato.

“Sakka hi anumatum yam, middham rupanti cintitam;

Tampi nivaranam middha-bhavato itaram viya.

“Sampayogabhidhana ca, na tam rupanti nicchayo;

Arupinabhi khandhanam, sampayogo pavuccati.

“Tatharuppe samuppatti, pathato natthi rupata;

Nidda khinasavanantu, kayagelabbato siya”ti.

6. Saddahatiti saddha, Buddhadisu pasado, sa sampayuttadhammanam pasadanalakkhana udakappasadakamani viya. Saranam (Abv.CS:pg.110) sati, asammoso, sa sampayuttadhammanam saranalakkhana. Hiriyati kayaduccaritadihi jigucchatiti hiri, sa papato jigucchanalakkhana. Ottappatiti ottappam, tam papato uttasalakkhanam. Attagaravavasena papato jigucchanato kulavadhu viya hiri, paragaravavasena papato uttasanato vesiya viya ottappam. Lobhappatipakkho alobho, so arammane cittassa alaggatalakkhano muttabhikkhu viya. Dosappatipakkho adoso, so acandikkalakkhano anukulamitto viya. Tesu dhammesu majjhattata tatramajjhattata, sa cittacetasikanam ajjhupekkhanalakkhana samappavattanam assanam ajjhupekkhako sarathi viya.

Kayassa passambhanam kayappassaddhi. Cittassa passambhanam cittappassaddhi. Ubhopi ceta kayacittadarathavupasamalakkhana. Kayassa lahubhavo kayalahuta. Tatha cittalahuta. Ta kayacittagarubhavavupasamalakkhana. Kayassa mudubhavo kayamuduta. Tatha cittamuduta. Ta kayacittathaddhabhavavupasamalakkhana. Kammani sadhu kammabbam, tassa bhavo kammabbata, kayassa kammabbata kayakammabbata. Tatha cittakammabbata. Ta kayacitta-akammabbabhavavupasamalakkhana. Pagunassa bhavo pagubbam, tadeva pagubbata, kayassa pagubbata kayapagubbata. Tatha cittapagubbata. Ta kayacittanam gelabbavupasamalakkhana. Kayassa ujukabhavo kayujukata. Tatha cittujukata. Ta kayacittanam ajjavalakkhana. Yathakkamam paneta kayacittanam sarambhadikaradhatukkhobhapatipakkhapaccayasamutthana, kayoti cettha vedanadikkhandhattayassa gahanam. Yasma cete dve dve dhammava ekato hutva yathasakam patipakkhadhamme hananti, tasma idheva (Abv.CS:pg.111) duvidhata vutta, na samadhi-adisu. Apica cittappassaddhi-adihi cittasseva passaddhadibhavo hoti, kayappassaddhi-adihi pana rupakayassapi tamsamutthanapanitarupapharanavasenati tadatthasandassanatthabcettha duvidhata vutta. Sobhananam sabbesampi sadharana niyamena tesu uppajjanatoti sobhanasadharana.

7. Samma vadanti etayati sammavaca, vaciduccaritavirati. Sa catubbidha musavada veramani, pisunavaca veramani, pharusavaca veramani, samphappalapa veramaniti. Kammameva kammanto suttantavanantadayo viya. Samma pavatto kammanto sammakammanto, kayaduccaritavirati. Sa tividha panatipata veramani, adinnadana veramani, kamesumicchacara veramaniti. Samma ajivanti etenati samma-ajivo, micchajivavirati. So pana ajivahetukakayavaciduccaritato viramanavasena sattavidho, kuhanalapanadimicchajivaviramanavasena bahuvidho va. Tividhapi paneta paccekam sampattasamadanasamucchedavirativasena tividha viratiyo nama yathavuttaduccaritehi viramanato.

8. Karoti paradukkhe sati sadhunam hadayakhedam janeti, kirati va vikkhipati paradukkham, kinati va tam himsati, kiriyati va dukkhitesu pasariyatiti karuna, sa paradukkhapanayanakamatalakkhana. Taya hi paradukkham apaniyatu va, ma va, tadakareneva sa pavattati. Modanti etayati mudita, sa parasampatti-anumodanalakkhana, appamanasattarammanatta appamana, ta eva appamabba. Nanu ca “catasso appamabba”ti vakkhati, kasma panettha dveyeva vuttati? Adosatatramajjhattatahi mettupekkhanam gahitatta. Adosoyeva hi sattesu hitajjhasayavasappavatto (Abv.CS:pg.112) metta nama. Tatramajjhattatayeva tesu patighanunayavupasamappavatta upekkha nama. Tenahu porana–

“Abyapadena metta hi, tatramajjhattataya ca;

Upekkha gahita yasma, tasma na gahita ubho”ti. (abhidha.70).

Pakarena janati aniccadivasena avabujjhatiti pabba, sa eva yathasabhavavabodhane adhipaccayogato indriyanti pabbindriyam. Atha sabbavibbanapabbanam kim nanakarananti? Sabba tava niladivasena sabjananamattam karoti, lakkhanappativedham katum na sakkoti. Vibbanam lakkhanappativedhampi sadheti, ussakkitva pana maggam papetum na sakkoti. Pabba pana tividhampi karoti, balagamikaherabbikanam kahapanavabodhanamettha nidassananti. Banavippayuttasabbaya cettha akaraggahanavasena uppajjanakale vibbanam abboharikam, sesakale balavam. Banasampayutta pana ubhopi tadanugatika honti. Sabbathapi pabcavisatiti sambandho.

9. “Terasabbasamanatyadi tihi rasihi vuttanam savgaho.

10. Cittena saha aviyutta cittaviyutta, cetasikati vuttam hoti. Uppajjatiti uppado, cittameva uppado cittuppado.(Abv.CS:pg.113) Abbattha pana sasampayuttam cittam cittuppadoti vuccati “uppajjati cittam etenati uppado, dhammasamuho, cittabca tam uppado cati cittuppado”ti katva. Samaharadvandepi hi pullivgam katthaci saddavidu icchanti. Tesam cittaviyuttanam cittuppadesu paccekam sampayogo ito param yathayogam pavuccatiti sambandho.

13. Sabhavena avitakkatta dvipabcavibbanani vajjitani etehi, tehi va etani vajjitaniti dvipabcavibbanavajjitani, catucattalisa kamavacaracittani. Tesu ceva ekadasasu pathamajjhanacittesu ca vitakko jayati sesanam bhavanabalena avitakkattati adhippayo.

14. Tesu ceva pabcapabbasasavitakkacittesu, ekadasasu dutiyajjhanacittesu cati chasatthicittesu vicaro jayati.

15. Dvipabcavibbanehi, vicikicchasahagatena cati ekadasahi vajjitesu atthasattaticittesu adhimokkho jayati.

16. Pabcadvaravajjanena, dvipabcavibbanehi, sampaticchanadvayena, santiranattayena cati solasahi vajjitesu tesattatiya cittesu viriyam jayati.

17. Domanassasahagatehidvihi upekkhasahagatehi pabcapabbasacittehi, kayavibbanadvayena, ekadasahi catutthajjhanehi cati sattaticittehi vajjitesu ekapabbasacittesu piti jayati.

18. Ahetukehi (Abv.CS:pg.114) attharasahi, momuhehi dvihi cati visatiya cittehi vajjitesu ekunasattaticittesu chando jayati.

19. Te panati pakinnakavivajjita tamsahagata ca. Yathakkamanti vitakkadichapakinnakavajjitatamsahitakamanurupato. “Chasatthi pabcapabbasatyadi ekavisasatagananavasena, ekunanavutigananavasena ca yatharaham yojetabbam.

20. “Sabbakusalasadharana”ti vatva tadeva samatthetum “sabbesupityadi vuttam. Yo hi koci panatipatadisu patipajjati, so sabbopi mohena tattha anadinavadassavi ahirikena tato ajigucchanto, anottappena anottappanto, uddhaccena avupasanto ca hoti, tasma te sabbakusalesu upalabbhanti.

21. Lobhasahagatacittesvevati eva-karo adhikaratthayapi hotiti “ditthisahagatacittesu”ti-adisupi avadharanam datthabbam. Sakkayadisu hi abhinivisantassa tattha mamayanasambhavato ditthi lobhasahagatacittesveva labbhati. Manopi ahammanavasena pavattanato ditthisadisova pavattatiti ditthiya saha ekacittuppadena pavattati kesarasiho viya aparena tathavidhena saha ekaguhayam, na capi dosamuladisu uppajjati attasinehasannissayabhavena ekantalobhapadatthanattati so ditthivippayuttesveva labbhati.

24. Tatha (Abv.CS:pg.115) parasampattim usuyantassa, attasampattiya ca parehi sadharanabhavam anicchantassa, katakataduccaritasucarite anusocantassa ca tattha tattha patihananavaseneva pavattanato issamacchariyakukkuccani patighacittesveva.

25. Akammabbatapakatikassa tatha sabhavatikkhesu asavkharikesu pavattanayogato thinamiddham sasavkharikesveva labbhati.

27. Sabbapubbesveva cattaro cetasika gata, lobhamuleyeva yathasambhavam tayo gata, dosamulesveva dvisu cattaro gata, tatha sasavkhareyeva dvayanti yojana. Vicikiccha vicikicchacitte cati ca-saddo avadharane. Vicikiccha vicikicchacitteyevati sambandho.

29. Lokuttaracittesu padakajjhanadivasena kadaci sammasavkappaviraho siya, na pana viratinam abhavo maggassa kayaduccaritadinam samucchedavasena, phalassa ca tadanukulavasena pavattanatoti vuttam “viratiyo panatyadi. Sabbathapiti sabbehipi tamtamduccaritadurajivanam vidhamanavasappavattehi akarehi. Na hi etasam lokiyesu viya lokuttaresupi musavadadinam visum visum pahanavasena pavatti hoti sabbesameva duccaritadurajivanam tena tena maggena kesabci sabbaso, kesabci apayagamaniyadi-avatthaya pahanavasena ekakkhane samucchindanato. Nanu cayamattho “ekatovati iminava siddhoti? Tam na, tissannam ekatovuttiparidipanamattena catubbidhavaciduccaritadinam patipakkhakarappavattiya adipitatta. Keci pana imamattham asallakkhetvava (Abv.CS:pg.116) “‘sabbathapi’ti idam atirittan”ti vadanti, tattha tesam abbanameva karanam. “Niyatati iminapi lokiyesu viya kadaci sambhavam nivareti. Kadaciti musavadadi-ekekaduccaritehi pativiramanakale. Kadaci uppajjantapi na ekato uppajjanti vitikkamitabbavatthusavkhatanam attano arammananam sambhavapekkhattati vuttam “visum visun”ti.

30. Appanappattanam appamabbanam na kadaci somanassarahita pavatti atthiti “pabcama …pe… cittesu cati vuttam. Vinivaranaditaya mahattam gatani, mahantehi va jhayihi gatani pattaniti mahaggatani. Nana hutvati bhinnarammanatta attano arammanabhutanam dukkhitasukhitasattanam apathagamanapekkhataya visum visum hutva. 32. Tayo solasacittesuti sammavacadayo tayo dhamma atthalokuttarakamavacarakusalavasena solasacittesu jayanti.

33. Evam (Abv.CS:pg.117) niyataniyatasampayogavasena vuttesu aniyatadhamme ekato dassetva sesanam niyatabhavam dipetum “issamaccheratyadi vuttam. Issamaccherakukkuccaviratikarunadayo nana kadaci jayanti, mano ca kadaci “seyyohamasmi”tyadivasappavattiyam jayati. Thinamiddham tatha kadaci akammabbatavasappavattiyam saha abbamabbam avippayogivasena jayatiti yojana. Atha va mano cati ettha ca-saddam “saha”ti etthapi yojetva thinamiddham tatha kadaci saha ca sasavkharikapatighe, ditthigatavippayuttasasavkharikesu ca issamacchariyakukkuccehi, manena ca saddhim, kadaci taditarasasavkharikacittasampayogakale, tamsampayogakalepi va nana ca jayatiti yojana datthabba. Apare pana acariya “mano ca thinamiddhabca tatha kadaci nana kadaci saha ca jayati”ti ettakameva yojesum.

34. Sesati yathavuttehi ekadasahi aniyatehi itare ekacattalisa. Keci pana “yathavuttehi aniyatayevapanakehi sesa niyatayevapanaka”ti vannenti, tam tesam matimattam, idha yevapanakanamena kesabci anuddhatatta. Kevalabhettha niyataniyatavasena cittuppadesu yatharaham labbhamanacetasikamattasandassanam acariyena katam, na yevapanakanamena keci uddhatati.

Evam tava “phassadisu ayam dhammo ettakesu cittesu upalabbhati”ti cittaparicchedavasena sampayogam dassetva idani “imasmim cittuppade ettaka cetasika”ti cetasikarasiparicchedavasena savgaham dassetum “savgahabcatyadi vuttam.

35. “Chattimsatyadi (Abv.CS:pg.118) tattha tattha yatharaham labbhamanakadhammavasena gananasavgaho.

36. Pathamajjhane niyuttani cittani, tam va etesam atthiti pathamajjhanikacittani. Appamabbanam sattarammanatta, lokuttaranabca nibbanarammanatta vuttam “appamabbavajjitati. “Tathati imina abbasamana, appamabbavajjita sobhanacetasika ca savgaham gacchantiti akaddhati. Upekkhasahagatati vitakkavicarapitisukhavajja sukhatthanam pavittha-upekkhaya sahagata. Pabcakajjhanavasenati vitakkavicare visum visum atikkamitva bhaventassa natitikkhabanassa vasena desitassa jhanapabcakassa vasena.
