Paramatthadhammavannana

2. Evam tava yathadhippetappayojananimittam ratanattayapanamadikam vidhaya idani yesam Abhidhammatthanam savgahanavasena idam pakaranam patthapiyati, te tava savkhepato uddisanto aha “tattha vuttatyadi. Tattha tasmim Abhidhamme sabbatha kusaladivasena, khandhadivasena ca vutta Abhidhammattha paramatthato sammutim thapetva nibbattitaparamatthavasena cittam vibbanakkhandho, cetasikam vedanadikkhandhattayam, rupam (Abv.CS:pg.74) bhutupadayabhedabhinno rupakkhandho, nibbanam maggaphalanamarammanabhuto asavkhatadhammoti evam catudha catuhakarehi thitati yojana. Tattha paramo uttamo aviparito attho, paramassa va uttamassa banassa attho gocaroti paramattho.

Cintetiti cittam, arammanam vijanatiti attho. Yathaha “visayavijananalakkhanam cittan”ti (dha.sa attha.1dhammudesavaraphassapabcamakarasivannana). Satipi hi nissayasamanantaradipaccayena vina arammanena cittamuppajjatiti tassa tamlakkhanata vutta, etena nirarammanavadimatam patikkhittam hoti. Cintenti va etena karanabhutena sampayuttadhammati cittam. Atha va cintanamattam cittam. Yathapaccayam hi pavattimattameva yadidam sabhavadhammo nama. Evabca katva sabbesampi paramatthadhammanam bhavasadhanameva nippariyayato labbhati, kattukaranavasena pana nibbacanam pariyayakathati datthabbam. Sakasakakiccesu hi dhammanam attappadhanatasamaropanena kattubhavo ca, tadanukulabhavena sahajatadhammasamuhe kattubhavasamaropanena patipadetabbadhammassa karanattabca pariyayatova labbhati, tathanidassanam pana dhammasabhavavinimuttassa kattadino abhavaparidipanatthanti veditabbam. Vicittakaranaditopi cittasaddattham papabcenti. Ayam panettha savgaho–

“Vicittakarana cittam, attano cittataya va;

Citam kammakilesehi, citam tayati va tatha;

Cinoti attasantanam, vicittarammananti ca”ti.

Cetasi bhavam tadayattavuttitayati cetasikam. Na hi tam cittena vina arammanaggahanasamattham asati citte sabbena sabbam anuppajjanato, cittam pana kenaci cetasikena vinapi (Abv.CS:pg.75) arammane pavattatiti tam cetasikameva cittayattavuttikam nama. Tenaha Bhagava “manopubbavgama dhamma”ti (dha.pa.1-2), etena sukhadinam acetanattaniccattadayo vippatipattiyopi patikkhitta honti. Cetasi niyuttam va cetasikam.

Ruppatiti rupam, situnhadivirodhipaccayehi vikaramapajjati, apadiyatiti va attho. Tenaha Bhagava “sitenapi ruppati, unhenapi ruppati”tyadi (sam.ni.3.79), ruppanabcettha sitadivirodhipaccayasamavaye visadisuppattiyeva. Yadi evam arupadhammanampi rupavoharo apajjatiti? Napajjati sitadiggahanasamatthiyato vibhutatarasseva ruppanassadhippetatta. Itaratha hi “ruppati”ti avisesavacaneneva pariyattanti kim sitadiggahanena, tam pana sitadina phutthassa ruppanam vibhutataram, tasma tadevetthadhippetanti bapanattham sitadiggahanam katam. Yadi evam katham brahmaloke rupavoharo, na hi tattha upaghataka sitadayo atthiti? Kibcapi upaghataka natthi, anuggahaka pana atthi, tasma tamvasenettha ruppanam sambhavatiti, atha va tamsabhavanativattanato tattha rupavoharoti alamatippapabcena.

Bhavabhavam vinanato samsibbanato vanasavkhataya tanhaya nikkhantam, nibbati va etena ragaggi-adikoti nibbanam.

Idani yasma vibhagavantanam dhammanam sabhavavibhavanam vibhagena vina na hoti, tasma yatha-udditthanam Abhidhammatthanam uddesakkamena vibhagam dassetum cittam tava bhumijatisampayogadivasena (Abv.CS:pg.76) vibhajitva niddisitumarabhanto aha “tattha cittam tavatyadi. Tava-saddo pathamanti etassatthe. Yatha-udditthesu catusu Abhidhammatthesu pathamam cittam niddisiyatiti ayabhetthattho. Cattaro vidha pakara assati catubbidham. Yasma panete catubhummaka dhamma anupubbapanita, tasma hinukkatthukkatthataratamanukkamena tesam niddeso kato. Tattha kametiti kamo, kamatanha, sa ettha avacarati arammanakaranavasenati kamavacaram. Kamiyatiti va kamo, ekadasavidho kamabhavo, tasmim yebhuyyena avacaratiti kamavacaram. Yebhuyyena caranassa hi adhippetatta ruparupabhavesu pavattassapi imassa kamavacarabhavo upapanno hoti. Kamabhavoyeva va kamo ettha avacaratiti kamavacaro, tattha pavattampi cittam nissite nissayavoharena kamavacaram “mabca ukkutthim karonti”tyadisu viyati alamativisaraniya kathaya. Hoti cettha–

“Kamovacaratityettha, kamevacaratiti va;

Thanupacarato vapi, tam kamavacaram bhave”ti.



Ruparupavacaresupi eseva nayo yatharaham datthabbo. Upadanakkhandhasavkhatalokato uttarati anasavabhavenati lokuttaram, maggacittam. Phalacittam pana tato uttinnanti lokuttaram. Ubhayampi va saha nibbanena lokato uttaram adhikam yathavuttagunavasenevati lokuttaram.

Imesu pana catusu cittesu kamavacaracittassa kusalakusalavipakakiriyabhedena catubbidhabhavepi papahetukavajjanam ekunasatthiya, ekanavutiya va cittanam sobhananamena voharakaranattham “papahetukamuttani (Abv.CS:pg.77) ‘sobhanani’ti vuccare”ti evam vakkhamananayassa anurupato papahetukeyeva pathamam dassento, tesu ca bhavesu gahitapatisandhikassa sattassa adito vithicittavasena lobhasahagatacittuppadanameva sambhavato teyeva pathamam dassetva tadanantaram dvihetukabhavasamabbena domanassasahagate, tadanantaram ekahetuke ca dassetum “somanassasahagatan”tyadina lobhamulam tava vedanaditthisavkharabhedena atthadha vibhajitva dasseti.

Tattha sundaram mano, tam va etassa atthiti sumano, cittam, tamsamavgipuggalo va, tassa bhavo tasmim abhidhanabuddhinam pavattihetutayati somanassam, manasikasukhavedanayetam adhivacanam, tena sahagatam ekuppadadivasena samsattham, tena saha ekuppadadibhavam gatanti va somanassasahagatam. Miccha passatiti ditthi. Samabbavacanassapi hi atthappakaranadina visesavisayata hotiti idha micchadassanameva “ditthi”ti vuccati. Ditthiyeva ditthigatam “savkharagatam thamagatan”tyadisu viya gata-saddassa tabbhavavuttitta. Dvasatthiya va ditthisu gatam antogatam, ditthiya va gamanamattam na ettha gantabbo attadiko koci atthiti ditthigatam, “idameva saccam moghamabban”ti pavatto attattaniyadi-abhiniveso, tena samam ekuppadadihi pakarehi yuttanti ditthigatasampayuttam. Savkharoti cittam tikkhabhavasavkhatamandanavisesena sajjeti, savkhariyati va tam etena yathavuttanayena sajjiyatiti savkharo, tattha tattha kicce samsidamanassa cittassa anubalappadanavasena attano va paresam va pavattapubbappayogo, so pana attano pubbabhagappavatte cittasantane ceva parasantane ca pavattatiti tannibbattito cittassa tikkhabhavasavkhato visesovidha savkharo, so yassa natthi tam asavkharam (Abv.CS:pg.78) tadeva asavkharikam. Savkharena sahitam sasavkharikam. Tatha ca vadanti–

“Pubbappayogasambhuto, viseso cittasambhavi;

Savkharo tamvasenettha, hotyasavkharikadita”ti.

Atha va “sasavkharikam asavkharikan”ti cetam kevalam savkharassa bhavabhavam sandhaya vuttam, na tassa sahappavattisabbhavabhavatoti bhinnasantanappavattinopi savkharassa idamatthitaya tamvasena nibbattam cittam savkharo assa atthiti sasavkharikam “salomako sapakkhako”tyadisu viya saha-saddassa vijjamanatthaparidipanato. Tabbiparitam pana tadabhavato vuttanayena asavkharikam. Ditthigatena vippayuttam visamsatthanti ditthigatavippayuttam. Upapattito yuttito ikkhati anubhavati vedayamanapi majjhattakarasanthitiyati upekkha. Sukhadukkhanam va upeta yutta aviruddha ikkha anubhavananti upekkha. Sukhadukkhavirodhitaya hesa tesam anantarampi pavattati. Upekkhasahagatanti idam vuttanayameva.

Kasma panettha abbesupi phassadisu sampayuttadhammesu vijjamanesu somanassasahagatadibhavova vuttoti? Somanassadinameva asadharanabhavato. Phassadayo hi keci sabbacittasadharana, keci kusaladisadharana, mohadayo ca sabbakusalasadharanati na tehi sakka cittam visesetum, somanassadayo pana katthaci citte honti, katthaci na hontiti pakatova tamvasena cittassa viseso. Kasma panete katthaci honti, katthaci na hontiti? Karanassa sannihitasannihitabhavato. Kim pana nesam karananti? Vuccatesabhavato, parikappato va hi ittharammanam, somanassapatisandhikata, agambhirasabhavata ca idha somanassassa (Abv.CS:pg.79) karanam, itthamajjhattarammanam, upekkhapatisandhikata, gambhirasabhavata ca upekkhaya, ditthivipannapuggalasevana, sassatucchedasayata ca ditthiya, balava-utubhojanadayo pana paccaya asavkharikabhavassati. Tasma attano anurupakaranavasena nesam uppajjanato katthaci citteyeva sambhavoti sakka etehi cittassa viseso pabbapetunti. Evabca katva nesam satipi mohahetukabhave lobhasahagatabhavova nigamane vutto.

Imesam pana atthannampi ayamuppattikkamo veditabbo. Yada hi “natthi kamesu adinavo”tyadina nayena micchaditthim purakkhatva hatthatuttho kame va paribhubjati, ditthamavgaladini va sarato pacceti sabhavatikkheneva anussahitena cittena, tada pathamam akusalacittamuppajjati. Yada pana mandena samussahitena cittena, tada dutiyam. Yada pana micchaditthim apurakkhatva kevalam hatthatuttho methunam va sevati, parasampattim va abhijjhayati, parabhandam va harati sabhavatikkheneva anussahitena cittena, tada tatiyam. Yada pana mandena samussahitena cittena, tada catuttham. Yada pana kamanam va asampattim agamma, abbesam va somanassahetunam abhavena catusupi vikappesu somanassarahita honti, tada sesani cattari upekkhasahagatani uppajjantiti. Atthapiti pi-saddo sampindanattho, tena vakkhamananayena akusalakammapathesu nesam labbhamanakammapathanurupato pavattibhedam kaladesasantanarammanadibhedena anekavidhatampi savganhati.

5. Dutthu mano, tam va etassati dummano, tassa bhavo domanassam, manasikadukkhavedanayetam adhivacanam, tena (Abv.CS:pg.80) sahagatanti domanassasahagatam. Arammane patihabbatiti patigho, doso. Candikkasabhavataya hesa arammanam patihananto viya pavattati. Domanassasahagatassa vedanavasena abhedepi asadharanadhammavasena cittassa upalakkhanattham domanassaggahanam, patighasampayuttabhavo pana ubhinnam ekantasahacarita dassanattham vuttoti datthabbam. Domanassabcettha anittharammananubhavanalakkhano vedanakkhandhapariyapanno eko dhammo, patigho candikkasabhavo savkharakkhandhapariyapanno eko dhammoti ayametesam viseso. Ettha ca yam kibci anittharammanam, navavidha-aghatavatthuni ca domanassassa karanam, patighassa karanabcati datthabbam. Dvinnam pana nesam cittanam panatipatadisu tikkhamandappavattikale uppatti veditabba. Etthapi nigamane pi-saddassa attho vuttanayanusarena datthabbo.

6. Sabhavam vicinanto taya kicchati kilamatiti vicikiccha. Atha va cikicchitum dukkarataya vigata cikiccha banappatikaro imissati vicikiccha, taya sampayuttam vicikicchasampayuttam. Uddhatassa bhavo uddhaccam. Uddhaccassa sabbakusalasadharanabhavepi idha sampayuttadhammesu padhanam hutva pavattatiti idameva tena visesetva vuttam. Evabca katva dhammuddesapaliyam sesakusalesu uddhaccam yevapanakavasena vuttam, idha pana “uddhaccam uppajjati”ti sarupeneva desitam. Honti cettha–

“Sabbakusalayuttampi, uddhaccam antamanase;

Balavam iti tamyeva, vuttamuddhaccayogato.

“Teneva hi munindena, yevapanakanamato;

Vatva sesesu ettheva, tam sarupena desitan”ti.

Imani (Abv.CS:pg.81) pana dve cittani mulantaravirahato atisammulhataya, samsappanavikkhipanavasena pavattavicikicchuddhaccasamayogena cabcalataya ca sabbatthapi rajjanadussanarahitani upekkhasahagataneva pavattanti, tatoyeva ca sabhavatikkhataya ussahetabbataya abhavato savkharabhedopi nesam natthi. Honti cettha–

“Mulhatta ceva samsappa-vikkhepa cekahetukam.

Sopekkham sabbada no ca, bhinnam savkharabhedato.

“Na hi tassa sabhavena, tikkhatussahaniyata;

Atthi samsappamanassa, vikkhipantassa sabbada”ti.

Mohena muyhanti atisayena muyhanti mulantaravirahatoti momuhani.

7. Iccevantyadi yathavuttanam dvadasakusalacittanam nigamanam. Tattha iti-saddo vacanavacaniyasamudayanidassanattho. Evam-saddo vacanavacaniyapatipatisandassanattho. Nipatasamudayo va esa vacanavacaniyanigamanarambhe. Iccevam yathavuttanayena sabbathapi somanassupekkhaditthisampayogadina patighasampayogadina vicikicchuddhaccayogenati sabbenapi sampayogadi-akarena dvadasa akusalacittani samattani parinitthitani, savgahetva va attani gahitani, vuttanityattho. Tattha kusalapatipakkhani akusalani mittappatipakkho amitto viya, patipakkhabhavo ca kusalakusalanam yathakkamam pahayakapahatabbabhavena veditabbo.

8. Atthadhatyadi savgahagatha. Lobho ca so suppatitthitabhavasadhanena mulasadisatta mulabca, kam etesanti lobhamulani cittani vedanadibhedato atthadha siyum. (Abv.CS:pg.82) Tatha dosamulani savkharabhedato dvidha. Mohamulani suddho mohoyeva mulametesanti mohamulasavkhatani sampayogabhedato dve cati akusala dvadasa siyuntyattho.

9. Evam mulabhedato tividhampi akusalam sampayogadibhedato dvadasadha vibhajitva idani ahetukacittani niddisanto tesam akusalavipakadivasena tividhabhavepi akusalanantaram akusalavipakeyeva cakkhadinissayasampaticchanadikiccabhedena sattadha vibhajitum “upekkhasahagatam cakkhuvibbanan”tyadimaha. Tattha cakkhati vibbanadhitthitam hutva samavisamam acikkhantam viya hotiti cakkhu. Atha va cakkhati rupam assadentam viya hotiti cakkhu. Cakkhatiti hi ayam saddo “madhum cakkhati, byabjanam cakkhati”tyadisu viya assadanattho hoti. Tenaha Bhagava– “cakkhum kho pana, magandiya, ruparamam ruparatam rupasammuditan”tyadi. Yadi evam “sotam kho, magandiya, saddaramam saddaratam saddasammuditan”tyadivacanato (ma.ni.2.209) sotadinampi saddadi-assadanam atthiti tesampi cakkhusaddabhidheyyata apajjeyyati? Napajjati nirulhatta, nirulho hesa cakkhu-saddo datthukamatanidanakammajabhutappasadalakkhane cakkhuppasadeyeva mayuradisadda viya sakunavisesadisu, cakkhuna sahavuttiya pana bhamukatthiparicchinno mamsapindopi “cakkhu”ti vuccati. Atthakathayam pana anekatthatta dhatunam cakkhati-saddassa vibhavanatthatapi sambhavatiti “cakkhati rupam vibhavetiti cakkhu”ti (visuddhi.2.510) vuttam. Cakkhusmim (Abv.CS:pg.83) vibbanam tannissitatthati cakkhuvibbanam. Tatha hetam “cakkhusannissitarupavijananalakkhanan”ti (dha.sa attha.431 visuddhi.2.454) vuttam.

Evam sotavibbanadisupi yatharaham datthabbam. “Tathati imina upekkhasahagatabhavam atidisati. Vibbanadhitthitam hutva sunatiti sotam. Ghayati gandhopadanam karotiti ghanam. Jivitanimittam raso jivitam, tam avhayati tasmim ninnatayati jivha niruttinayena. Kucchitanam papadhammanam ayo pavattitthananti kayo. Kayindriyabhi photthabbaggahanasabhavatta tadassadavasappavattanam, tammulakanabca papadhammanam visesakarananti tesam pavattitthanam viya gayhati. Sasambharakayo va kucchitanam kesadinam ayoti kayo. Tamsahacaritatta pana pasadakayopi tatha vuccati. Du kucchitam hutva khanati kayikasukham, dukkhamanti va dukkham. Dukkaramokasadanam etassati dukkhan”tipi apare. Pabcavibbanaggahitam rupadi-arammanam sampaticchati tadakarappavattiyati sampaticchanam. Samma tireti yathasampaticchitam rupadi-arammanam vimamsatiti santiranam. Abbamabbaviruddhanam kusalakusalanam pakati vipaka, vipakkabhavamapannanam arupadhammanametam adhivacanam. Evabca katva kusalakusalakammasamutthananampi katattarupanam natthi vipakavoharo. Akusalassa vipakacittani akusalavipakacittani.

10. Sukhayati kayacittam, sutthu va khanati kayacittabadham, sukhena khamitabbanti va sukham. “Sukaramokasadanam etassati sukhan”ti apare. Kasma pana yatha akusalavipakasantiranam ekameva vuttam, evamavatva kusalavipakasantiranam dvidha vuttanti? Ittha-itthamajjhattarammanavasena vedanabhedasambhavato. Yadi evam tatthapi anittha-anitthamajjhattarammanavasena vedanabhedena bhavitabbanti? Nayidamevam anittharammane (Abv.CS:pg.84) uppajjitabbassapi domanassassa patighena vina anuppajjanato, patighassa ca ekantakusalasabhavassa abyakatesu asambhavato. Na hi bhinnajatiko dhammo bhinnajatikesu upalabbhati, tasma attana samanayogakkhamassa asambhavato akusalavipakesu domanassam na sambhavatiti tassa tamsahagatata na vutta. Atha va yatha koci balavata pothiyamano dubbalapuriso tassa patippaharitum asakkonto tasmim upekkhakova hoti, evameva akusalavipakanam paridubbalabhavato anittharammanepi domanassuppado natthiti santiranam upekkhasahagatameva.

Cakkhuvibbanadini pana cattari ubhayavipakanipi vattharammanaghattanaya dubbalabhavato anitthe itthepi ca arammane upekkhasahagataneva. Tesabhi catunnampi vatthubhutani cakkhadini upadarupaneva, tatha arammanabhutanipi rupadini, upadarupakena ca upadarupakassa savghattanam atidubbalam picupindakena picupindakassa phusanam viya, tasma tani sabbathapi upekkhasahagataneva. Kayavibbanassa pana photthabbasavkhatabhutattayameva arammananti tam kayappasade savghattitampi tam atikkamitva tannissayesu mahabhutesu patihabbati. Bhutarupehi ca bhutarupanam savghattanam balavataram adhikaranimatthake picupindakam thapetva kutena pahatakale kutassa picupindakam atikkamitva adhikaraniggahanam viya, tasma vattharammanaghattanaya balavabhavato kayavibbanam anitthe dukkhasahagatam, itthe sukhasahagatanti. Sampaticchanayugalham pana attana asamananissayanam cakkhuvibbanadinamanantaram uppajjatiti samananissayato aladdhanantarapaccayataya sabhagupatthambharahito viya puriso natibalavam sabbathapi visayarasamanubhavitum na sakkotiti sabbathapi upekkhasahagatameva. Vuttavipariyayato kusalavipakasantiranam ittha-itthamajjhattarammanesu (Abv.CS:pg.85) sukhopekkhasahagatanti. Yadi evam avajjanadvayassa upekkhasampayogam kasma vakkhati, nanu tampi samananissayanantaram pavattatiti? Saccam, tattha pana purimam pubbe kenaci aggahiteyeva arammane ekavarameva pavattati, pacchimampi visadisacittasantanaparavattanavasena byaparantarasapekkhanti na sabbathapi visayarasamanubhavitum sakkoti, tasma majjhattavedanasampayuttamevati. Honti cettha–

“Vatthalambasabhavanam, bhutikanabhi ghattanam;

Dubbalam iti cakkhadi-catucittamupekkhakam.

“Kayanissayaphotthabba-bhutanam ghattanaya tu.

Balavatta na vibbanam, kayika majjhavedanam.

“Samananissayo yasma, natthanantarapaccayo;

Tasma dubbalamalambe, sopekkham sampaticchanan”ti.

Kusalassa vipakani, sampayuttahetuvirahato ahetukacittani cati kusalavipakahetukacittani. Nibbattakahetuvasena nipphannanipi hetani sampayuttahetuvaseneva ahetukavoharam labhanti, itaratha mahavipakehi imesam nanattasambhavato. Kim panettha karanam yatha idhevam akusalavipakanigamane ahetukaggahanam na katanti? Byabhicarabhavato. Sati hi sambhave, byabhicare ca visesanam satthakam siya. Akusalavipakanam pana lobhadisavajjadhammavipakabhavena tabbidhurehi, alobhadihi sampayogayogato, sayam abyakataniravajjasabhavanam lobhadi-akusaladhammasampayogavirodhato ca natthi kadacipi sahetukataya sambhavoti ahetukabhavabyabhicarato (Abv.CS:pg.86) na tani ahetukasaddena visesitabbani.

11. Idani ahetukadhikare ahetukakiriyacittanipi kiccabhedena tidha dassetum “upekkhasahagatan”tyadi vuttam. Cakkhadipabcadvare ghattitamarammanam avajjeti tattha abhogam karoti, cittasantanam va bhavavgavasena pavattitum adatva vithicittabhavaya parinametiti pabcadvaravajjanam, kiriyahetukamanodhatucittam. Avajjanassa anantarapaccayabhutam bhavavgacittam manodvaram vithicittanam pavattimukhabhavato. Tasmim ditthasutamutadivasena apathamagatamarammanam avajjeti vuttanayena va cittasantanam parinametiti manodvaravajjanam, kiriyahetukamanovibbanadhatu-upekkhasahagatacittam. Idameva ca pabcadvare yathasantiritam arammanam vavatthapetiti votthabbananti ca vuccati. Hasitam uppadetiti hasituppadam, khinasavanam anolarikarammanesu pahatthakaramattahetukam kiriyahetukamanovibbanadhatusomanassasahagatacittam.

12. Sabbathapiti akusalavipakakusalavipakakiriyabhedena. Attharasati gananaparicchedo. Ahetukacittaniti paricchinnadhammanidassanam.

14. Evam dvadasakusala-ahetukattharasavasena samatimsa cittani dassetva idani tabbinimuttanam sobhanavoharam thapetum “papahetukamuttanityadi vuttam. Attana adhisayitassa apayadidukkhassa papanato papehi (Abv.CS:pg.87) hetusampayogabhavato ahetukehi ca muttani catuvisatikamavacarapabcatimsamahaggatalokuttaravasena ekunasatthiparimanani, atha va attha lokuttarani jhanavgayogabhedena paccekam pabcadha katva ekanavutipi cittani sobhanagunavahanato, alobhadi-anavajjahetusampayogato ca sobhananiti vuccare kathiyanti.

Tattha arammanam vitakketi sampayuttadhamme abhiniropetiti vitakko, so sahajatanam arammanabhiniropanalakkhano, yatha hi koci gamavasi puriso rajavallabham sambandhinam mittam va nissaya rajageham anupavisati, evam vitakkam nissaya cittam arammanam arohati. Yadi evam katham avitakkam cittam arammanam arohatiti? Tampi vitakkabaleneva abhinirohati. Yatha hi so puriso paricayena tena vinapi nirasavko rajageham pavisati, evam paricayena vitakkena vinapi avitakkam cittam arammanam abhinirohati. Paricayoti cettha savitakkacittassa santane abhinhappavattivasena nibbatta cittabhavana. Api cettha pabcavibbanam avitakkampi vattharammanasavghattanabalena, dutiyajjhanadini ca hetthimabhavanabalena abhirohanti.

Vippharavacettha vitakko cittassa paripphandanabhuto, akase uppatitukamassa sakunassa pakkhavikkhepo viya, padumabhimukhapato viya ca gandhanubandhacetasa bhamarassa, santavutti vicaro cittassa natiparipphandanabhuto, akase uppatitassa (Abv.CS:pg.92) sakunassa pakkhappasaranam viya, padumassa uparibhage paribbhamanam viya ca padumabhimukhapatitassa bhamarassa.

Jhanavgasamudaye yeva hi jhanavoharo nemi-adi-avgasamudaye rathavoharo viya, tatha hi vuttam Vibhavge “jhananti vitakko vicaro piti sukham cittassekaggata”ti (vibha.569). Kasma pana abbesu phassadisu sampayuttadhammesu vijjamanesu imeyeva pabca jhanavgavasena vuttati? Vuccate– upanijjhanakiccavantataya, kamacchandadinam ujupatipakkhabhavato ca. Vitakko hi arammane cittam abhiniropeti. Vicaro vicikicchaya arammane anumajjanavasena pabbapatirupasabhavatta. Evam upanijjhanakiccavantataya, kamacchandadinam ujupatipakkhabhavato ca imeyeva pabca jhanavgabhavena vavatthitati. Yathahu–

“Upanijjhanakiccatta, kamadipatipakkhato;

Santesupi ca abbesu, pabceva jhanasabbita”ti.

Upekkha panetta santavuttisabhavatta sukheva antogadhati datthabbam. Tenahu–

Pahanavgadivasena panassa viseso upari avi bhavissati, tatha arupavacaralokuttaresupi labbhamanakaviseso. Athettha kamavacarakusalesu viya savkharabhedo kasma na gahito. Idampi hi kevalam samathanuyogavasena patiladdham sasavkharikam, maggadhigamavasena patiladdham asavkharikanti sakka vattunti? Nayidamevam maggadhigamavasenasattito patiladdhassapi aparabhage parikammavaseneva uppajjanato, tasma sabbassapi jhanassa parikammasavkhatapubbabhisavkharena (Abv.CS:pg.94) vina kevalam adhikaravasena anuppajjanato “asavkharikan”tipi, adhikarena ca vina kevalam parikammabhisavkhareneva anuppajjanato “sasavkharikan”tipi na sakka vattunti. Vibbanameva anantam vibbananantam, pathamaruppavibbanam. Tabhi uppadadi-antavantampi anantakase pavattanato attanam arabbha pavattaya bhavanaya uppadadi-antam aggahetva anantato pharanavasena pavattanato ca “anantan”ti vuccati. Vibbananantameva vibbanabcam akarassa rassattam, na-karassa lopabca katva. Dutiyaruppavibbanena va abcitabbam papunitabbanti vibbanabcam, tadeva ayatanam dutiyaruppassa adhitthanattati vibbanabcayatanam. Sesam purimasamam.

Nassa (Abv.CS:pg.96) pathamaruppassa kibcanam appamattakam antamaso bhavgamattampi avasittham atthiti akibcanam, tassa bhavo akibcabbam, pathamaruppavibbanabhavo. Tadeva ayatanantyadi purimasadisam.

Olarikaya sabbaya abhavato, sukhumaya ca sabbaya atthitaya nevassa sasampayuttadhammassa sabba atthi, napi asabbam avijjamanasabbanti nevasabbanasabbam, catuttharuppajjhanam. Digham katva pana “nevasabbanasabban”ti vuttam. Nevasabbanasabbameva ayatanam manayatanadhammayatanapariyapannattati nevasabbanasabbayatanam. Sabbavasena cettha jhanupalakkhanam nidassanamattam. Vedanadayopi hi tasmim jhane nevavedananavedanadikayevati. Nevasabbanasabbayatanena sampayuttam kusalacittam nevasabbanasabbayatanakusalacittam. Pi-saddena cettha arammanappatipadamissakanayavasena solasakkhattukadesanam (dha.sa.265-268), abbampi ca paliyam agatanayabhedam savganhati.

30. Arammananam atikkamitabbanam, kasinakasavibbanatadabhavasavkhatanam alambitabbanabca akasadicatunnam gocaranam pabhedena aruppamanasam catubbidham hoti. Nibbanam maggeti, nibbanatthikehi va maggiyati, kilese marento gacchatiti va maggo, tena sampayuttam cittam maggacittam, sotapattiya laddham maggacittam sotapattimaggacittam. Atha va ariyamaggasotassa adito pajjanam etassati sotapatti, puggalo, tassa maggo sotapattimaggo, tena sampayuttam cittam sotapattimaggacittam.

Sakim ekavaram patisandhivasena imam manussalokam agacchatiti sakadagami, idha patva idha parinibbayi, tattha patva tattha parinibbayi, idha patva tattha parinibbayi, tattha patva idha parinibbayi, idha patva tattha nibbattitva idha parinibbayiti pabcasu sakadagamisu pabcamako idhadhippeto. So hi ito (Abv.CS:pg.98) gantva puna sakim idha agacchatiti. Tassa maggo sakadagamimaggo. Kibcapi maggasamavgino tathagamanasambhavato phalatthoyeva sakadagami nama, tassa pana karanabhuto purimuppanno maggo maggantaravacchedanattham phalatthena visesetva vuccati “sakadagamimaggo”ti. Evam anagamimaggoti. Sakadagamimaggena sampayuttam cittam sakadagamimaggacittam.

Pi-saddena ekekassa maggassa nayasahassavasena catunnam catusahassabhedam Saccavibhavge (vibha.206 vibha attha.206-214) agatam satthisahassabhedam nayam hettha vuttanayena anekavidhattampi savganhati. Sotapattimaggo tava jhananamena patipadabhedam anamasitva kevalam subbato appanihitoti dvidha vibhatto, puna patipadacatukkena yojetva paccekam catudha vibhattoti evam jhananamena dasadha vibhatto. Yadi hi maggacittam punappunam uppajjeyya, taduppattiya kiriyabhavo sakka vattum. Tam pana kilesasamucchedakavaseneva upalabhitabbato ekavarappavatteneva ca tena asanisampatena viya taru-adinam samulaviddhamsanassa tamtamkilesanam accantam appavattiya sadhitatta puna uppajjamanepi katabbabhavato ditthadhammasukhaviharatthabca phalasamapattiya eva (Abv.CS:pg.100) nibbanarammanavasena pavattanato na kadaci sekkhanam asekkhanam va uppajjati. 38. Jhanavgavasena pathamajjhanasadisatta pathamajjhanabca tam sotapattimaggacittabceti pathamajjhanasotapattimaggacittam. Padakajjhanasammasitajjhanapuggalajjhasayesupi, hi abbataravasena tamtamjhanasadisatta vitakkadi-avgapatubhavena cattaropi magga pathamajjhanadivoharam labhanta paccekam pabcadha vibhajanti. Tenaha “jhanavgayogabhedena”tyadi, tattha pathamajjhanadisu yam yam jhanam samapajjitva tato tato vutthaya savkhare sammasantassa vutthanagaminivipassana pavatta, tam padakajjhanam vutthanagaminivipassanaya padatthanabhavato. Yam yam jhanam sammasantassa sa pavatta, tam sammasitajjhanam. “Aho vata me pathamajjhanasadiso maggo pabcavgiko, dutiyajjhanadisu va abbatarasadiso caturavgadibhedo maggo bhaveyya”ti evam yogavacarassa uppannajjhasayo puggalajjhasayo nama.

Tattha yena pathamajjhanadisu abbataram jhanam samapajjitva tato vutthaya pakinnakasavkhare sammasitva maggo uppadito hoti, tassa so maggo pathamajjhanadisu tamtampadakajjhanasadiso hoti. Sace pana vipassanapadakam kibci jhanam natthi, kevalam pathamajjhanadisu abbataram jhanam sammasitva (Abv.CS:pg.102) maggo uppadito hoti, tassa so sammasitajjhanasadiso hoti. Yada pana yam kibci jhanam samapajjitva tato vutthaya abbataram sammasitva maggo uppadito hoti, tada puggalajjhasayavasena dvisu abbatarasadiso hoti. Sace pana puggalassa tathavidho ajjhasayo natthi, hetthimahetthimajjhanato vutthaya uparuparijhanadhamme sammasitva uppaditamaggo padakajjhanam anapekkhitva sammasitajjhanasadiso hoti. Uparuparijhanato pana vutthaya hetthimahetthimajjhanadhamme sammasitva uppaditamaggo sammasitajjhanam anapekkhitva padakajjhanasadiso hoti. Hetthimahetthimajjhanato hi uparuparijhanam balavataranti. Vedananiyamo pana sabbatthapi vutthanagaminivipassananiyamena hoti. Tatha sukkhavipassakassa sakalajjhanavganiyamo. Tassa hi padakajjhanadinam abhavena tesam vasena niyamabhavato vipassananiyamena pabcavgikova maggo hotiti. Apica samapattilabhinopi jhanam padakam akatva pakinnakasavkhare sammasitva uppaditamaggopi vipassananiyameneva pabcavgikova hotiti ayamettha atthakathadito uddhato vinicchayasaro. Theravadadassanadivasappavatto pana papabco atthakathadisu vuttanayena veditabbo. Yatha cettha, evam sabbatthapi vittharanayo tattha tattha vuttanayena gahetabbo. Ganthabhirukajananuggahattham panettha savkhepakatha adhippeta.

42. Yatha rupavacaram cittam pathamadipabcavidhajhanabhedena gayhati “pathamajjhanan”tyadina vuccati tatha anuttarampi cittam “pathamajjhanasotapattimaggacittan”tyadina gayhati. Aruppabcapi upekkhekaggatayogena avgasamataya pabcamajjhane gayhati, pabcamajjhanavoharam labhatityattho. Atha va (Abv.CS:pg.103) rupavacaram cittam anuttarabca pathamadijhanabhede “pathamajjhanakusalacittam, pathamajjhanasotapattimaggacittantyadina yatha gayhati, tatha aruppabcapi pabcame jhane gayhatiti yojana. Acariyassapi hi ayameva yojana adhippetati dissati namarupaparicchede ujukameva tatha vuttatta. Vuttabhi tattha–

“Rupavacaracittani, gayhantanuttarani ca;

Pathamadijhanabhede, aruppabcapi pabcame”ti. (nama.pari.24).



Tasmati yasma rupavacaram viya anuttarampi pathamadijhanabhede gayhati, aruppabcapi pabcame gayhati, yasma va jhanavgayogabhedena ekekam pabcadha katva anuttaram cittam cattalisavidhanti vuccati, rupavacaralokuttarani viya ca pathamadijhanabhede, tatha aruppabcapi pabcame gayhati, tasma pathamadikamekekam jhanam lokiyam tividham, lokuttaram atthavidhanti ekadasavidham. Ante tu jhanam tevisatividham tividharupavacaradvadasavidha-arupavacara-atthalokuttaravasenatyattho.

43. Padakajjhanadivasena gananavuddhi kusalavipakesveva sambhavatiti tesameva gananam ekavisasatagananaya avgabhavena dassento aha “sattatimsatyadi.
