archaeologist  displayed  very  precious  findings  having  great  importance  for  study 
of our history during investigations carried out in Agsu by our scientists. You were 
witnessed how Agsu Archaeological Expedition does today productive work in line 
of  investigating  darker  points  of  our  history.  We  are  deeply  grateful  to  our 
esteemed  scientists,  and  all  members  of  our  Expedition  for  these.  All  issues 
depending  on  us  for  further  successful  continuance  of  investigations  will  onward 
find their solution in due time. 
I express  my  gratitude  to the leadership  of Academy  of National Sciences, 
personally  Naila  khanum  for  organization  and  provision  of  productive  activity  of 
Agsu Archaeological Expedition. I also express  my gratefulness to director of the 
Institute, most esteemed Maisa khanum; archaeologists and ethnographer scientists 
participating  in today's  event  for  special  attention  and care  they show to studying 
of  Agsu  monuments  of  Institute  of  Archaeology  and  Ethnography  on  behalf  of 
Agsu intellectuals and community. 
Distinguished  guests!  I  intentionally  touched  upon  large-scale  construction 
and renovation  work carried out in Agsu for last years in my short speech. I want 
you to walk Agsu every inch and recognize novelties yourselves. Then you will see 
that  dreams  of  our  Great  Leader  Haydar  Aliyev  flourishes  in  our  Agsu  he  loved 
and  expressed  hottest  attitude  like  everywhere.  Rest  in  peace  Great  Leader!  Let 
everyone hear how Agsu people will be thereupon loyal to Haydar Aliyev ideals as 
they  always  did  and  will  worthily  fulfill  all  duties  our  state  undertook  led  by  our 
honourable President Mister llham Aliyev.

Dear  ladies  and  gentlemen!  Today  it  is  very  valuable  day  for  us.  We  have 
arrived  in  Agsu  to  celebrate  87-year  anniversary  of  Great  Leader  together  with 
you.  One  of  charming  corners  of  Azerbaijan,  Agsu  region  has  been  really  grown 
beautiful  recently.  The  person  is  admired  by  renovation  and  construction  work 
there. It is another bright sample of celebrity of Haydar Aliyev ideals. 
Large  care  of  Great  Leader  to  historical  cultural  heritage  is  known  well  to 
every  person.  From  this  viewpoint  it  is  moral  obligation  of  all  of  us  to  remind 
gratefully Great Leader's careful attitude he showed towards protection, study and 
propagation  of  historical  cultural  heritage  on  the  eve  of  his  birthdate.  I  think  that 
activity  of  Agsu  region  Executive  Power  and  Agsu  Archaeological  Expedition  in 
this  direction  is  estimable.  Leadership  and  initiators  of  "MIRAS"  Social 
Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage should be applauded for 
attention  and  care  they  showed  to  study  of  our  history.  The  results  of  our  joint 
efforts are seen clearly. Pay attention please, to useful work done for short time in

direction  of  study  of  history  of  Agsu,  one  of  important  medieval  towns  of 
Azerbaijan. 
Implementation 
of 
large-scale 
archaeological 
excavations; 
systematization and demonstration of material cultured examples found from there, 
at  the  exhibition;  preparation  and  faint  publication  of  a  book  on  Agsu  history;  at 
last,  presentation  of  web  page  in  this  regard,  are  definitely  both  significant  and 
important  work.  I  express  deeply  my  gratitude  to  the  whole  staff  of  Agsu 
Archaeological Expedition, personally chief of the Expedition, Mr. Gafar for these 
all. They managed the assigned work worthily and with high professionalism. I am 
sure that  we  will  witness  together  with  you greater  successes and new projects  of 
Agsu Archaeological Expedition in the future. 
Dear  ladies  and  gentlemen!  I  want  to  inform  you  that  scale  of 
archaeological  investigations  increase  day  by  day  in  the  area  of  Azerbaijan, 
personally through special attention and care of President llham Aliyev. Nearly 40 
archaeological  expeditions  functioned  within  Institute  of  Archaeology  and 
Ethnography  last  year.  Tens  of  new  monuments  were  included  into  the 
archaeological  map  of  Azerbaijan  for  only  last  year.  Archaeological  fund  of  our 
museums  was  enriched  on  account  of  new  and  rare  findings.  It  is  a  positive  fact 
that  archaeologists  of  a  number  of  countries  of  the  world,  including  US,  France, 
Germany,  Japan,  South  Korea  and  Georgia  took  great  interest  in  research  of 
Azerbaijani  monuments.  Joint  expeditions  functioning  with  participation  of 
scientists of those countries serve surely strengthening of cultural political relations 
between our peoples and states. 
I  can  talk  a  lot  about  the  work  done  by  Institute  of  Archaeology  and 
Ethnography,  but  I  would  like  to  think  of  duties  awaiting  us  in  the  future.  We 
should  struggle  for  greater  targets  to  be  worthy  to  advice,  precept  and  wishes  of 
Great Leader. 
Honorable Mr. Anvar! In the end I would like to express my deep gratitude 
to  you,  entirely  Agsu  leadership  for  care  for  thoughtful  attitude  to  historical 
cultural heritage. 
I  wish  Agsu  people  to  celebrate  birthday  anniversary  of  Great  Leader 
Haydar Aliyev, a founder of our state so pompously next years too.
