Before- We use before to show that the first part of the sentence happened first. E.g. We left before it started to rain.

  • After- We use after to show that the second part of the sentence happened first. E.g. We went for a meal after we had seen the film.

  • İf- We use if to say that the first part of the sentence will only happen after the second part of the sentence happens and it may not happen. E.g. You can have some ice cream if you eat your dinner.

  • Only- We use only to say something is not very big or very much. E.g. He only sleeps for three hours every night.

  • Like- We use like to make a comparison. E.g. She looks like her father.

  • Than- We use than after a comparative adjective or adverb. E.g. She works harder than he does.

  • Too, also, as well-We use also, too and as well to say something is extra. E.g. He works in the shop and she does also / too / as well.


    VOCABULARY 3

    1. Hate- to dislike someone or something very much. E.g. Kelly hates her teacher.

    2. Angry- feeling or showing strong annoyance, displeasure. E.g. It made me really angry.

    3. Upset- make (someone) unhappy, disappointed, or worried. E.g. He was very upset that you didn't reply to his emails.

    4. Thirsty- feeling a need to drink. E.g. All that exercise has made me thirsty.

    5. Hungry- feeling or showing the need for food. E.g. The children are always hungry when they get home from school.

    6. Well- in a good way, in a good health. E.g. I don't feel very well

    7. Tired- in need of rest or sleep. E.g. I was so tired when I got home from work last night
