Surprised- feeling or showing surprise because something has happened that you did not expect. E.g. I'm surprised to see you here.

  • Prefer- to like, choose, or want one thing rather than another. E.g. I prefer red wine to white.

  • Hope- to want something to happen or to be true. E.g. We hope to see you soon.

  • Actually- in reality. E.g. People say bad things about her, but she’s actually very nice.

  • Really- very. E.g. The book is really good

  • Else- in addition or different. E.g. Do you want to buy anything else? Or go somewhere else?

  • Around- about or approximately. E.g. I’ll meet you at around 6 o’clock.

  • Anyway- to return to an earlier subject, to give a reason to do something. E.g. Anyway, as I said, I woke up very late today.

  • I don’t mind- it is all the same for me.

  • İt is up to you- you decide

  • İt doesn`t matter- it is not important

  • What a pity- a feeling of sadness or sympathy for the suffering or unhappiness of others.

  • Hurry up- to move or do things more quickly

  • Look out- be careful

  • Absolutely – completely; beyond any doubt

  • Have a look-look at it. E.g. Can I have a look?

  • Have a go - ride it. E.g. Can I have a go?

  • Have a good journey- somebody is going away

  • Have a moment- have some time. E.g. Can I have a moment with you?

  • Have a word with you- speak to you. E.g. Can I have a word with you?

  • Have a good time- fun; we enjoy them e.g. We always have a good time in our English lessons

  • To have a hair cut- someone cuts your hair for you. E.g. I’m going to have my hair cut. See you later. Can you meet me at the hairdresser’s?

  • A leap year- a year which has 366 days

  • A fortnight- a period of two weeks.

    3. a horror film - a film in which very frightening or unnatural things happen, for example dead people coming to life

    6. an action film- a film with a fast-moving plot , usually containing scenes of violence

    7. a science fiction film- films, or cartoons about an imagined future, especially about space travel or other planets

    8. a musical- a film in which singing and dancing play an essential part

    9. a romantic comedy- a film or play that deals with love in a light, humorous way

    10. a film star- an actor or actress who is famous for playing leading roles in films. E.g. Why was she behaving like a film star?

    11. go in- to enter

    12. go out of- to leave a room or building

    13. go up- rise, increase

    14. go down- dicrease

    15. to be going to- used to talk about what will happen or could happen
