Abraham’s House Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the infallible and inerrant Word of God, that it is God’s Holy and inspired Word, and that it is the supreme and final authority for both faith and practice.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God but as a result of deliberate sin is lost and powerless to save himself. Sin is now in the “DNA” of every single human being.

  • We believe everyone will face the judgment of God. The believer in Jesus Christ will be rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ and the unbeliever in Jesus Christ will face God’s judgment at the Great White Throne.

  • We believe that the only hope for man is to believe on Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God, Who died to take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of mankind, and Who rose from the dead so that by receiving Him as Savior and Lord, man is redeemed by His shed blood on the cross.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ led a sinless life and that once He rose from the dead He ascended back to heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father as our mediator and advocate.

  • We believe that there is a heaven where God dwells and the saints and angels with Him and that there is place reserved for the devil and his angels at the end time judgment-the Lake of Fire and Brimstone. Unbelievers dwell in torment currently in Hades where “their worm never dies and the fire is not quenched.” The day will come, however, when Hades will be cast into the Lake of Fire. All evil will then be banished and all unbelievers will be judged according to their deeds.

  • We believe that Christ is coming again soon to earth in power and glory and we, His children, will rule and reign with Him forever and ever.

  • We believe we must have a concern for the hurts and social needs of our fellowman. We must do what we can to aid and assist those that are poor and suffering, especially the widows and orphans.

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells those who have received Christ, regenerating the spirit and enabling them to live righteous and godly lives and gifting them to serve the body of Christ.

  • We believe that the Church is the living Body of Christ, and is composed of all those who through belief in Jesus Christ have been spiritually regenerated by the indwelling Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that the mission of the church is worldwide evangelization on the one hand and the nurture and discipling of Christians on the other.

  • We believe that water baptism as commanded by Christ should be observed as an outward demonstration of an inward commitment to Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that God will make all things new and that there will be a new heaven and a new earth where there is no sorrow or crying, death or pain. This is our blessed hope-to live with Jesus Christ forever and ever and ever.

Abrahamic Faiths Covenant for Peacemaking

As Jewish, Christian and Muslim people we find common ground in our common origin. We are followers of Abraham, committed to the human family and therefore adhere to a common core of ethical standards. We shall pursue friendship, peace and justice. We will speak out against all forms of prejudice, hatred, and discrimination.

We shall stand for the religious pluralism and mutual understanding that undergird the resilience of America.

As people of faith we enter into sacred covenant with a pledge to:

1. Pursue courageous friendships that bridge cultural divides.

2. Weave our lives and institutions into the fabric of safety and security, protecting all from intimidation, threats or war within community and country.

3. Speak and participate in public life, guided by prayer, reflection and experience. We bring our faithfulness to the public square to preserve religious pluralism, engendering peace in the 21st Century.

4. Shun passivity for creative and responsible imagination for the future and wellbeing of all people.

May these humble efforts be transformative in a world that cries out for peace and dignity.
